Shamsa is an old bedouin name and it means the sun.
Shamsa, a Middle Eastern embodiment of the feminine mystical, oracle, queens of the desert. The warrior queens. The women that had most wisdom. The beautiful, resilient, strong and free goddesses. This is for my mother.

I have been DJing for a little over 2 years now between the region and Berlin. I cannot begin to describe the journey so far. The places I've been, the sounds I played and I heard, the people I met, the mentors, teachers and closest supporters, I can not begin to express how blessed I am to have embarked on this life mission of exploring the limitless boundaries within electronic music. 


I've always shied away from posting and sharing my sound and perhaps for absolutely no good reason. I think I should start doing it more often. Have a listen and if you like what you hear please give a shout out, share and support.

BIO:
Matthias Kunze had his first brush with house music long time ago, in his hometown Halle (Saale). Together with friends, he performed in several off-locations and started to gain interest in DJing. Currently he resides in Hamburg and plays clubs and festivals throughout Germany. The main source of his inspiration is Klangextase [https://soundcloud.com/klangextase-1], a German podcast station he founded more than a decade ago. Through the years, Matthias has invited a lot of skilled artists across the world to share their music on the platform. In 2018, he went from local to global and ventured out to South Africa where he has played in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Matthias’ sound describes as deep, sometimes melancholic, combined with subtle highlights and a kicking beat, which makes everyone move. His musical journeys are always good for a surprise and leave the audience with a feeling of joy.

Borella is a Toronto-based electronic music artist known for her melodically dynamic sound that mostly falls on the deeper side.

Be it downtempo or darker and more progressive sounds, she makes sure to guide her listeners through different soundscapes; taking them to a space where words don't speak and music is the only language of thought.

She took her very first music lessons at the age of five with her father who is a professional percussionist. Later on at the age of twelve she took her first guitar lessons in classical and Spanish disciplines.

A former ballet dancer, Borella draws a significant amount of her inspiration from her dance training, and often introduces genres such as jazz and classical music into her mixes.

Her love for electronic music developed in her teens. After digging in the underground scene for a few years, Borella found herself drawn to the deeper journey-like sounds that spoke a slightly more complex language than others.

Her sets are known to take the listeners through delicate and powerful journeys that are vibrant and dynamic. “This mix is a deep wander into a sea of emotions.”
