Spaceship Melody (Dub In Orbit)

I was feeling the influence of groups like Black Dog on this one, and also enjoying my new gear, particularly the Sequential Circuits Prophet 600. Released on Silent Records in 1995.

Rubber Smoke

Here it is, the one Deeper Than Space was famous for (in some chill-out rooms, at least). This was a collaboration with Darren Cutlip of Dreams Without Number (and currently co-owner of the excellent Jacktone Records). This was recorded live in my bedroom in Redwood City, California in one pass. I still remember recording this, and the elation I felt as we were doing it. It's still a very special song for me. It was released on Silent Records in 1993.

Deeper Than Space - Silent Mix

Fuji is the third track on the new album on Silent Records by Deeper Than Space. The Mountain is the first album of new material by DTS since the mid-90s. This song, "Fuji," features musician Yumi Enomoto playing the sho, a traditional Japanese instrument.

Deeper Than Space was born in the chill-out rooms of the San Francisco rave scene in the early 90s. DTS was soon discovered by the seminal San Francisco electronic label Silent Records and three albums and two EPs followed. Deeper Than Space has been biding its time in deep space but is now on its way back to Earth in preparation for the rebirth of Silent Records. Fly on.
