TB Premiere: Eddy M - Really Really Hot [Solid Grooves]

Italian duo Shokë return to Solid Grooves Raw with their latest single, 'Bring It Back'.

After debuting in late 2020, Italian pairing Shokë have quickly found an impressive list of supporters, including Marco Carola, Joseph Capriati, Ilario Alicante and Solid Grooves Records co-founders Michael Bibi and PAWSA. First appearing on the main label in early 2022 with 'Coast To Coast', the duo recently returned with 'N.5' on sister imprint Solid Grooves Raw to close the year, and it's there where they return for their first material of 2023 as they return with their latest track 'Bring It Back'.

Armed with metallic percussion licks, rumbling bass and wonky synth stabs, 'Bring It Back' is a moody and impactful cut that builds to unveil a series of trippy vocals set to stay in the minds of listeners and dancers long into the night.

Next through the door at NoExcuse Records is Deeper Purpose with his 'Love Medicine' release. The up and coming producer serves us an original that is married up with a killer remix from Tech House mogul Max Chapman; both tracks are set to cause some serious damage respectively upon release.

Opening the show with the original from Deeper Purpose, it features a strong NoExcuse vibe. Plenty of robust drum work and catchy percussive elements that build progressively throughout the track are just the mere surface level components, underneath that you can find the heart and soul of Love Medicine. No doubt one of the catchiest vocals you will hear all summer, accompanied by a rich, roaring bassline.

The remix from Max Chapman is just as enjoyable, a chugging, peak-time Tech Groover loaded to the ceiling with his trademark sound. A strong accomplice to the original, offering a bouncier approach with tight drums, fetching melodics and plenty of Max's punch in the forehead style drops (cue the epic drum fills & snare builds!).

A modern Tech House release that packs a mighty punch from one of the most promising talents in the game currently, followed up by undoubtedly one of the godfathers of the UK scene.

 Revolutionary DJ and producer Matador presents his exciting debut release for Hot Creations Wildside this July. It features two contrasting tracks that stay true to the ethos of the label synonymous with White Isle hedonism.

Wildside opens with spirited percussion of shakers and snare rolls, reverberating into a fuzzy and infectious bassline groove. The playful sample is looped over crazy effects and bright keys, before dropping into a final crescendo that will have feet stomping in unison. Sweet Release retains a classic deep house sound with dreamy chords and lush synth. The track develops with warm sub-bass, piano, arpeggiation and soulful vocals, resulting in a summertime anthem.

Matador has made his mark on the electronic music world since the very beginning, producing a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, becoming a brand ambassador for MODEL 1 and featuring in Resident Advisor’s ‘Top 20 Live Acts’ for three years in the early part of his career. In 2016 he launched his label RUKUS, releasing music from emerging and established artists alike. Darius Syrossian makes a triumphant return to the label that helped establish him with two of his timeless house tracks plus a remix from Alex Ranerro.

UK veteran Syrossian now heads up his own label Moxy Muzik, but in earlier years was a VIVa Music mainstay. He has also released on the likes of Hot Creations, Moon Harbour, Robsoul and Defected, but wherever he lands you can be sure that his house music has no fads or frills, just straight up sweaty grooves. From deep to vocal to jacking, this maestro can do it all, and is just as versatile and vital in the DJ booth.

He kicks off here with 'Planet Jazz' which has freaky vocal sounds panning about over big, impactful kicks. Once things get going, the bass brings real depth while curious guitar riffs and frazzled synths add club ready energy. Brilliant second offering 'The Renegade' is a chunky house cut with a warped bassline that twists and turns beneath icy hi-hats. It's a real set building tune that is filled with tension, promise and real machine soul. Last of all is an irresistible remix of 'The Renegade' by Alex Ranerro, a Slovenia based DJ, producer and SolvdMag co-owner. His excellent track is a smooth and seductive house kicker, with smeared pads and kinetic drum programming that has perfect bounce.
