DARREN EMERSON @ LATITUDE FESTIVAL 2023

This is a recording of my last practice session before Blossom, with the tracks I seriously considered playing.  My actual set at Blossom was very similar to what is recorded here with some differences as I adjusted to the environment slightly.  Also this mix is an extra 40minutes longer (why not).
This mix starts quite deep and slowly builds up, there are some deep and dubby sounds in here which I thought would work really well for a 9 a.m. set.  It does get a little more tougher later.

Quick note: Blossom festival was wicked fun! if you missed it, then get down to it next year!

Few can claim to have their names featured on dance music's most respected mix compilations, but Anthony Pappa is one of those. With seminal mixes with both Renaissance and Global Underground that are nothing short of stuff of legend. In fact his 'Renaissance presents' released in 1999 pretty much single handedly fuelled our lads summer holiday to Kavos, which despite not quite being the dance music mecca that is Ibiza, that one disc made us feel like it was just as good. And it still sounds just as good now.

So it's with great pleasure to present a brand new mix recorded live from Anthony's recent set in Beirut, February 2017. It's a winner. (Shout out to Neil at Electric Ibiza for the hook up!). Many thanks for tuning in and expect more exclusive mixes very soon.

DJ THREE - Live @ The Soulhouse - October 1998

The legend began with the Spring Promo; a mix of a lot of firsts for us as well as Luke. This was the first of many promo sets we sent to Mercuryserver to include in their Special Downloads section. MS has since grown to be the top messageboard for anything progressive house and we like to think Luke has had a big hand in putting them on the map. The mix was also timed for release around bringthebeats’ first trip to the WMC. As you can tell by the summery vibe, it was the perfect sound for South Beach.

This Toronto House Pioneer has been spreading the love since 1985. Over the years he has not only spread the gospel of house playing several of toronto's now legendary clubs and after hours but has also done his share of producing. His releases can be found on several labels under different alias. His goal was not to become world famous but to promote the music that captured his soul. In addition to his duties spinning he also spent years on radio and ran an industry magazine. He has also worked as a label consultant for BMG, RCA, Unviersal, Sony, Virgin, Quality records. He now spends his time promoting and introducing new DJs to the scene and educating them on the roots of the sounds of house. .
