Introducing Mellon, Maksim Khudiakov, a Russian producer now based is Belgrade whose work draws on Dub, Jazz and classic Hip Hop influences.  Mellon’s latest EP, Brutalism, sees these influences gathered and shaped by personal touches; atmospheric textures and dextrous rhythms sit across 4 tracks that balance playfulness and brutality. The release marks another potent step forward for Sudo Sound and Mellons impressive Discographies. 

Also included in this release is a collaboration between Mellon and Dub Head. Hailing from Kiev, Ukraine, Vitalii, known as Dub Head, is a founder of Cybernetic crew with releases on Transparent Audio, Sofa Sound, Sauce Recordings & Dispatch; he is devoted to creating a unique and captivating sound in the world of Drum and Bass and beyond. His link-up on Mellons latest project brings 'Allergy' to the release, another example of why Dub Head remains one of the front runners in the scene.

"Suffocate" is one track that really stood out for me on this amazing EP, coming soon on Shades Of Grey.
South London-based producer, dj, illustrator and graphic designer Fybe:one will release his debut solo EP, Harp, coming soon. Having remixed the likes of Anneka, DA:10, Patterns in Plastic and Jesse Futerman, and produced 'an instant classic'album with folk singer Jono McCleery (Counter / Ninja Tune), he's striking out with 6 tracks of bass-inflected subterranean electronica.
After playing in a band, Fybe turned his hand to making beats and digging for records to sample in charity shops. Yet eventually, he says, "the guilt of getting the credit for someone else's talent got to me so I started composing all the melodies and instruments myself". 
Fybe's favourite instrument, the harp, provides a loose theme for the EP, which cleverly marries luscious chords and delicate harp sequences with complex, haunting vocal chops and sparkling arpeggios. Fybe's lightness of touch makes for a result that is at once mature and edgy, as laid-back as it is forward-thinking. The EP is already receiving praise from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs after being played on her XFM show in September.
Harp also marks the first release from Shades Of Grey Recordings; a new imprint set up by Fybe, Ductand Owen Howells, and dedicated to showcasing the best emerging talent in the UK scene. Itslaunch party at Brixton's Plan B featured Pariah, Jamie Grind, Troy Gunner and Trinomic (the bananas DJ trio that is Fybe, Herse and Logiq).
