Smokin' Sessions are extremely excited to announce the new single titled 'Intersection' from one of the label's most celebrated artists that goes by the name of Synkro.

The release is taken from the long-awaited compilation release 'The Session' Vol.2.
The follow-up compilation from the 10-year celebration back in 2017 continues along with the same energy that Smokin' Sessions are so well known for, offering floaty and uplifting productions with detailed beat work, along with that all-important heavy serving of lower frequencies. 
We hear some absolute classics from names such as Djrum, Geode, Versa & Rowl, Escapism Refuge, Occult, Mercy, and some newcomers to the label in the form of Marenn Sukie & Synpal.
There are 5 exclusive, unreleased tracks in total. 2 stunners from Synkro, 1 from Biome, and another 2 from Synpal.

'Intersection' takes it back to that classic Sessions sound of 2 step beats, sub-low weight underpin, and cloud-like pad progressions that fill the higher end of the frequency spectrum.
As you would expect from Synkro, the beats are super detailed and masterfully arranged. An array of percussion and hi-hats, weave in and out of the production throughout, while the pads at the forefront of the mix breath fluidity across the arrangement.
The sub-bass sits subtly enough underneath the track to not draw you away from the melodies, yet pulses enough to give the track warmth and weight.
An instant classic Sessions offering that will be a firm favourite with fans for sure. 

Having released with Exit Records, Brownswood, On The Edge, Deep Heads, Styrax, Auxiliary & Med School, as well as remixes for Model 500, Snow Patrol, Lowb & a plethora more, Synkro has most recently found a home at R&S sister label 'Apollo'.  Major support for Synkro's music has come from names like Chris Coco, Giles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs, Prefuse 73 and dBridge. A truly staple artist in the timeline of UK Bass.

Deep Heads are proud to present ‘Where Are you now’ from a new artist to our family, that goes by the name of Liminka. Although this is the first release from Liminka, many of our fans will be familiar with his work as Sidi that we have released over the years.

Born in Finland but raised in Germany, Andreas Kühn aka Liminka is an artist that is going to cause some serious waves in the near future. As a teenager, he played drums and saxophone in a few bands but became more serious about creating music when he discovered music production software at the age of 16. Starting out, he experimented with making Dubstep but developed his sound into more of a Down-Tempo / Lofi sound that we hear today in his productions as Liminka. He studied Electroacoustic Composition at Bauhaus University in Weimar and Music Technology in Helsinki. Liminka is his first official project since graduating recently.

The Full EP is nothing short of pure genius.
You can hear that Liminka has worked a long time to produce this EP and the details in the recordings are phenomenal.
The sound is Lofi & downtempo and touches on many different influences across the electronic music spectrum.

Not only do we hear the incredible production skills Liminka has built up over his time as a producer, but we also hear some brilliant compositions, all played and performed by Andreas on an array of different instruments that include guitar & saxophone.

Drawing on influences from the likes of Boards of Canada, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Bonobo, David Holmes, Fennesz & more,
You can hear that Liminka is influenced by deep, immersive electronic producers with an ear for detail and raw emotion-driven music.

In Liminka's own words -

"This tune is a reconnection with myself as a producer since it was the first song I wrote in a long time. I was searching for this hidden part of me that used to write this kind of music, trying to be true to myself. I also kind of wrote it to my girlfriend at the time. I was stuck at home because I had an injury, but could not reach her, so I made music in the hope she would hear me.”

Rising downtempo chill producer Liminka will be releasing ‘Bones’ on the 22nd of April via Deep Heads. The producer has previously released work under the Sidi alias, for which he received support from XLR8R & most recently from Son Of Marketing, Laurent Garnier & Matt The Alien for the Liminka project.

Born in Finland, raised in Germany, and currently based in Austria, Andreas Kühn has entered the world of music under numerous names, the latest being Liminka. As a teenager, he played drums and saxophone in a few bands but became more serious about creating music when he discovered music production software at the age of 16, after which he would begin to incorporate both the guitar and rolling electronic elements into his work. The ever-evolving producer studied Electroacoustic Composition at Bauhaus University in Weimar and Music Technology in Helsinki. 

Within his latest single, the listener can hear that Liminka is influenced by deep, immersive electronic producers with an ear for detail and raw emotion-driven music. While creating the atmospheric track, the producer found inspiration in the works of Boards of Canada, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Bonobo, David Holmes, and Fennesz to name a few. His own sound would like itself at home next to the likes of Bonobo, Massive Attack, and Portico Quartet on any lo-fi collector’s shelf. 

‘Bones’ is the last track taken from the EP ‘Hungerberg’ that is soon to drop on the label or has already if you’re reading this sometime in the future.
The track is a perfect example of what Liminka is all about. 
Detailed production and bags of raw emotion drive the track throughout the journey of sounds and are masterfully produced. 
An Artist with a bright future to watch out for.

It's just over half a gigabyte of Synkro Loops & One-shots and focuses on the UK Garage influences within Synkro’s pallet of sounds.

The sounds encompassed within the pack take us back to early Synkro releases and provide some parts to some absolute classics, along with a heavy chunk of fresh loops & sounds created especially for this sample pack.

The melody loops are exactly what you’d expect from Synkro and supply an array of beautifully created compositions. Loads of Pads, chords, and dreamy frequencies that are ready to manipulate and give you some signature Synkro goodness in your own productions / Dj Sets.

All the loops are at 130BPM so are super easy to map on your DAW.

The beat loops are mostly 2step and signature Synkro in body. Each full drum loop is supplied as individual stems for each part. So Kick, hat, percussion & snare loops are all supplied as separate stems if you want even further control over the loops.

The bass loops are also stunning. Loads of low-end Reece bass, some well crafter 808’s, and a selection of sub-bass underpins, all with a huge serving of Synkro low-frequency drive. 

There’s also a weighty offering of Drum One-shots, with 20X Kicks, 20X Snares, 20X Hi-Hats & 20X percussion sounds that can be described as nothing else than Synkro sounding beats.

Also included are some Multi’s with 5 Different Keyboard Chords, 5 Synkro Bass Presents, and then to round it off, there are 13 different FX samples in the one-shot section.
