AfrikaBurn.. and playing Friday Night on The Spirit Train. What a amazing and honourable experience this was!! The Spirit Train took a year off in 2018 so I only heard stories about it. From the stories I understood that it was an incredible art project and mindblowing stage with an enormous energy that can be felt all over the Tankwa desert. I never even thought that I would have the chance to play on it.. 

That was until early 2019 when @michel-piccaya approached me and asked if I wanted to contribute with my music. I was surprised and honoured and put a lot of time and concentration in preparation of my gig. I played my first gig on the train on Monday night and was overwhelmed by the crowd. I was told though that this was just a warm up and Friday night would be way bigger. 

Well they were right. 

All the lights, lasers, flamethrowers were up and running, my dear friends Vincent Freebird Lauenstein and Diana Frankovic did video mapping on the train and the playa was completely filled with people. I had never played for so many thousands of people and for such an energetic crowd. It was so much fun, as was the rest of AfrikaBurn. Building Ubuhlanti stage and camp and playing at lots of other amazing camps. Connecting with so many people, playing B2B with @powlina, @joep-mencke, @vander_music and @deep_schismic ... but this gig on Friday was my personal highlight and that is why I share it with you dear friends. I feel so thankful for all the support and the chance to play on these amazing places. 

Special thanks to Jonx Pillemer for this gorgeous shot of this year's Clan effigy, designed by Lindsay Cessford and built by Mike Rule and his amazing crew. Also thanks to @afrikaburn for creating this playground for us burners, you are amazing! Thank you @the-spirit-train, @bellville, @jerri-mperdempes, @one-track-mike, Anna, Jeffrey, Stephanie, the peacock crew and my Ubuhlanti family and all the other people that supported me. I love you so much!! <3

Fascinated by African rhythms and natural sounds, but also influenced by the pop rock culture of the 90’s’ of his parents. Alaix began composing his first songs on a video game console at the age of 13. Experimentation has always been a key point in each of these musical productions, thereby exploring different genres over the years. Over time his signature sound further developed and he got recognised by great venues, such as LaCoste Castle, that gave him the opportunity to perform his music and spread the love even more.
