Late Night Music is proud to present Australian producer Fourthstate's first artist EP on the label for our ninth release - Fargone | Distant Source. These two progressive gems – and their subsequent remixes - easily demonstrate the unique talent of producer and DJ Alex Braknys, showing a refinement in production across the listening experience!

The melancholic Fargone begins the EP, building slowly with ethereal vocals and spacey synth chords, before reaching a crescendo bursting with emotion - perfect for that peak moment on the dancefloor.

Distant Source continues with a strong dub-techno vibe, with pulsating echoed siren calls and rich ambient textures over a chunky bassline groove.

Melbourne progressive icon Jamie Stevens is on board for a remix of Distant Source, overlaying his signature sound to create a driving, dancefloor focused progressive mix with classical-tinged synth overtones.

DJing and producing electronic music for over 18 years, Fourthstate is renowned in his home town of Canberra, Australia for playing an immersive blend of head caving Progressive tunes. Be it Techno, House, Breaks, Melodic, Minimal or Dubby sounds with subtly layered live samples., acapellas, DJ tools, loops & creative FX.

Fourthstate's name has appeared on the bill at numerous festivals, club nights and underground parties in Australia alongside a plethora of international heavy weights such as Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Danny Howells, James Zabiela, Guy J, Anthony Pappa, Hybrid, Dusky, Stanton Warriors, Darren Emerson, Oliver Huntermann, Jamie Stevens, Phil Kiera, The Plump Djs, Lee Coombs, Nic Fanciulli and many more to name.

Production wise; Fourthstate’s original tracks and remixes have seen international releases on labels such as Late Night Music, Deep Garnet Records, Pineapple Digital, Elliptical Sun Recordings, V.I.M Records, Spring Tube, Stigma, Hypnotic Room and more!

Dj Shaggy moved to San Francisco from New York in 1993 during the “Golden Era” of the Bay Area Rave scene. He quickly picked up the turntables & started mixing, becoming a part of San Francisco's unique set of sounds. Shaggy's been delivering those sounds for over 20 years. Never forgetting his roots in the 90’s warehouse underground and even in blending dust from the playa into every mix. There are no bounds to the genre’s he will pull from to completely fill the dance floor. Able to tailor sets to fit the environment, from packed energetic dance floors to sunrise sets; he brings big sounds from full energy to deep melodies and from high bpm to chill sounds. Constantly exploring, expanding and blending the “San Francisco Sound”, Shaggy fills the space.
