BIOGRAPHY

FAE is a DJ and pianist based in Rome. 

Since she was a child she discovered the love for the piano and thanks to her passion for music, over the years, she began to compose and produce making it a job as well as a hobby. 

Despite her classical studies she has always had an interest in electronic music leading her to create a style that combines the depth of the piano with the energy of electronic sounds.

Maqam, born from a decade-long passion for electronic music and a wide range of influences, emerged in late 2019 as a duo with a distinctive take on organic house. Drawing from their North African and Middle Eastern heritage, they weave a 4/4 music concept enriched with cultural influences from around the globe. 

The Halifax based DJ's have a deep appreciation of electronic music culture and always aim to deliver sets featuring diverse instrumentation, eccentric vocals, rhythmic percussion, all wrapped in a melodic soundstage complemented by groovy basslines. Continually demonstrating varied scope and versatility in the fabric of their programming, they always seek to capture you in their eclectic tapestry of sound. 

Recently gracing stages at various festivals in 2022 and 2023 as well as local venues on the east coast of Canada over the years, they eagerly anticipate continuing to share their unique and uncompromising sound with the world.

Rich Towers is a DJ/Producer from Manchester (UK). He has well over 10 years experience DJing across venues in the North West of England and recently made his debut internationally at Destino Pacha in Ibiza. Organic, Progressive and Deep House are the main styles that he loves to play for his listeners. He runs a party in Manchester with fellow DJ/Producer and friend Mazayr (@mazayr) called 'Right Frequency'. They've had successful events at some of the best venues across Manchester over the past 5 years. His productions have a unique blend of deep hypnotic, melodic sounds. While he only started producing music in 2021 he has already had releases on Be Adult, Flug Lab, Nordic Voyage, RYNTH & 3rd Avenue to name a few.

Marginalia welcomes more bubbling top-tier talent to the label with the release of its first ever VA compilation, ‘Bestiary Vol. 1’. 

Released worldwide on Friday, February 23, Marginalia’s ‘Bestiary Vol. 1’ VA features a total of seventeen unique productions from a selection of artists whose immaculate productions have become a mainstay in Elif’s DJ sets over the past twelve months. 

A term dating back to the Middle Ages – roughly translating to ‘an encyclopaedia of beasts’ – the first instalment of ‘Bestiary’ is  accompanied by a continuous mix of all tracks from Elif, as she welcomes an array of Marginalia mainstays and debuting talent to the label for an epic compendium of discerning dance floor cuts.

Joining returning artists Althoff, Jaffer and MANTi, are an incredible fifteen debutant acts – Ayan, Esin, Evade, I Promised Mom, Juan Gioffre, Mumboi, Mrqz, Rebrn, Sam Farsio, Samet Gunal, Sebastian Duarte, Snirco, Tenvin, Tito Azevedo and VALON & LERM – all of whom bring their own unique contributions to the first chapter of Marginalia’s ‘Bestiary’ VA series; a package which showcases some of the very finest interpretations of underground house and techno on the label to date.
