Tash’s Movement Recordings opens the month of November by welcoming TEELCO back to the label for his debut solo EP. Based in Albania, TEELCO has been a fixture of the progressive house underground for the better part of a decade. Noted for his deep melodic sound, the Tirana resident first emerged on the strength of tracks for Balkan Connection's BC2 and Soundteller Records, making him a name to watch going forward. The next decade would see TEELCO further hone his craft and notch standout releases for Deep Down Music, Mango Alley, RKP and Univack, while earning the praise of genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Mariano Mellino. Also finding a home on Movement Recordings, TEELCO made his label debut in resounding fashion alongside fellow countryman Maze 28 with the three-track showcase ‘Sense’. Now, returning to the label in solo capacity, TEELCO unveils his ‘Xenon’ EP, alongside remixes from Kostya Outta and Rudra.

Making his label debut with the lone interpretation of ‘Xenon’ is Kostya Outta. On the success of early tracks such as ‘High Flyers’ and ‘Silence’, Kostya’s groovy melodic sound was born, making him a new breed of progressive house producer to watch going forward. A continued evolution in sound across the last three years has seen the Belarusian artist rise into one of the genre’s most in demand talents. World class DJs such as Eelke Kleijn, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, D-Nox and more have been steadfast supporters along the way, while releases via Replug, Mango Alley, Proportion and Afterglow have been discography highlights. In a year that has already seen Kostya operate at his most prolific to date, he now adds Movement Recordings to his resume with a subversive take on ‘Xenon’. Staying true to the qualities of the original, but expertly reshaped and rearranged, Kostya applies some progressive pressure, which makes for a version that is percussive and rhythmic, with just the right amount of tension and atmosphere, the ultimate dancefloor weapon if you will.

A record woven deep into the tapestry of South African electronic music, ask any SA selector about Blackwhole’s ‘1000 Seconds’ and its certain to evoke a reaction, coined a “stone cold classic” by many of the biggest names in the genre. Released 17 years ago, emerging out of the local Kwaito scene of Johannesburg’s townships to become a record bag essential for many DJs, the uniquely South African groove has had a far-reaching musical impact, resonating with dancefloors across the country. Now Kid Fonque’s Stay True Sounds picks up the record, after a long search for founding member of Blackwhole Mr Cee for his blessing to give it a global release. Described by South African legend Oskido as “way ahead of its time,” this innovative cut now gets a long-awaited worldwide outing, ready to once again turn the heads of selectors, this time beyond its native land. The release also includes a remix from Stay True Sounds mainstay Atmos Blaq, a key force in the development of the 3-Step genre, he adds his effortless, slow-burn aesthetic to the essential track.

Marking our final release of 2024, Son of Dennis and Casis make their Sondela debuts with ‘Exhale’ - a two-track EP that beautifully contrasts raw intensity with emotional depth. This project showcases the duo’s ability to fuse their distinct styles into a cohesive narrative, crafting tracks that are as moving as they are powerful.  

Opening with ‘Hold On,’ the EP draws listeners in with soothing, airy vocals sung by Tim in Tsonga. The heartfelt lyrics create a striking contrast with the bold bass-line and dynamic beat, resulting in a track that is as grounding as it is uplifting.

Julian Wassermann steps up to the SVT plate with an immersive four track effort that showcases his knack for deep tech melodies. A minimal bassline and synths straight from the depths of space lay the groundwork for Alpha, the kickoff into the EP. A subtle yet effective mood-setter, it makes for a great inaugural cut as the release unfolds. Title piece Aurea calmly follows, looming in with tribal infused percussion and lush, effusive vocals. Garnering an equally atmospheric mood, Wassermann aptly combines airy pads and dark synths into an immensely polarizing cut. People Are Strange dives in on a more dynamic note, centered around a solid bassline with alternating synth lines. Swiftly morphing into an energetic banger via punchy bass and ghostly vocal chops, the construction carries major peak time appeal. For the final contribution Imperia, Wassermann calls on the production skills of fellow Muenchener H.B.C. to create a radiant piece of spacious tech. Layering modular strobes and arpeggiated synths, their production styles merge harmoniously, resulting in a dancefloor-ready strapping groove.

The Virgo label boss Ilario Alicante presents the first in a series of
collaboration EP's with many recognised artists of the Electronic music scene.

The first episode consists of two collab-tracks with Kevin De Vries, who is well known for his releases on Afterlife. The track “Dystopia” merges a driving bass-synth line with mysterious melodies, the second is “Lotus” recognised with retro-wave arpeggios and pads, orchestrated by a refined techno groove making a unique adrenaline rush.

Kevin himself includes two of his own solo-tracks, including the noteworthy “Dragon of Eden”, that is already known in many of Ilario’s DJ sets. The track takes the listener on a voyage through charming melodies accompanied by the unmistakable groove of the Berlin-based artist.
