The 42nd installment of UNITY is a very typical representation of a DJ set by Nick Harvey. It begins with very driving, uplifting beats and tracks heavily characterized by house music. This is followed by a shift in spectrum between underground house and tribal dance music, sprinkled with influences from the last 30 years. Nick's vast musical knowledge and huge repertoire (a collection of over 20,000 records) are clearly audible and are not only enjoyable for listeners who recognize the rhythms and vocals, but also for new listeners who are experiencing these elements for the first time. This is followed by a finale of timeless anthems that are unparalleled and bursting with energy. As always, Nick sends his listeners off with a surprise, in the case of Unity 42 a new, previously unreleased mix from his extensive collection of anthem producers, the producers who have helped many major DJs achieve great fame over the last 30 years.

Rhythm Machine - Summer House 2025

I had such a great night in my former home town Portland recently playing this late summer set at The Get Down for BRÜT. Feeling post-Burning Man inspired, I delivered a set that's truly emblematic of where my sound is heading these days. (more similar to what you heard in my PTown/Gifford House set back in July)

Learning the art of opening takes years and the first hour of this set is a true warm-up to welcome the crowd and slowly start filling the dance floor. DJ's should never start the night at an 11 and I have great honor & respect for the slow build and the long journey; music that weaves and tells a story over the course of the night. You'll hear a transition about an hour in when the crowd starts to usher in and the night really begins. From there on out, it's 90-minutes of tech house heaven. 

I've been going a bit acapella crazy recently and this night was no exception. I had a lot of fun playing several tracks for the first time including Adam Ten's "Just Kidding" (layering Shawnee Taylor's "Live Your Life" vocals over), N2N's new track "Naked," Vinter's "Space Pump," BLOND:ISH's new "Don't Cha" remix from The Pussycat Dolls, and my friend Simon Harrison's new original "Find Me On The Dance Floor" (also with a special acapella layered over!)

After the fabulous Pines Party Weekend officially ends, in the early evening of Sunday, August 3rd, there actually is one more chance to dance the night away. Now in its eighth year, the annual last party helmed by yours truly has become a Fire Island tradition in its own right. This happens to be my favorite weekend of the year, and together with my other signature event on Labor Day Sundays, it is one of my most treasured nights to play.
