Connaisseur and the Italians: Una storia d’amore! Lehar, Musumeci or Olderic, just a few names of Italian artists that come to mind when thinking of the past few years of the Offenbach-based imprint. Now, a new name can be added to this illustrious round: Fabio Vanore, an Italian rooted DJ and producer living in the area of Bonn. He has built himself quite a reputation both in the periphery of Cologne as the resident of the well known club Tante Rike, and with releases on the highly respected Canadian labels mircoCastle and Incroyable Music, with which he is closely connected and where his debut album will come out by end of this year.

Back to his debut on Connaisseur. When we listened to Fabio’s tracks for the first time, we instantly enjoyed the demanding energy of his productions paired with some almost uplifting moments. His music is modern, groove- and melody-driven, flirting with techno (Theory Of Light), modern indie-dance variations ("The Prince") and high energy disco ("Midnight“). A brilliant foretaste of his upcoming album.

This already stunning release is rounded up by remixes by two of the most acclaimed artists of the moment: Bawrut and Cooper Saver. Both artists took the chance to prepare an interpretation for "The Prince". Bawrut used the percussion elements and built them around a rave house monster with balls. Cooper instead used synth elements and took them into a more rocking electro scenario. Two different directions but both state-of-the-art. We couldn't be happier about this release.

Originals and remixes will be released separately with a gap of two weeks.

Rai Scott’s (@serendipity) “Planet Mercury” ep on Echocentric Records is a perfect example of her machine-driven soul that marries warmth and natural melody with accented heavy rhythms.

The title track hits the ground running with a heavy bass line and strong undercurrent of hypnotic percussion. The track floats in a space where a hazy dream narrowly avoids shifting into something much darker...

This Experience continues the theme by weaving soft bouncy bass tones with melodic tingles into a lush pulsating sonic texture. This is trademark Rai Scott, a sound that instantly warms the heart and soothes the mind.

Ultravizion’s remix adds even more layers. His DJ friendly approach explores further into the liquid dream space.

The EP comes to a close with Deeprhythms version of the title track. Space-echo soaked chords and lush percussion retaining the melancholy of the original while going for a more laid-back vibe.

French artist Captain Mustache lands on Canada's My Favorite Robot with an EP that features a high quality list of collaborators including Chicks on Speed, Mateo Murphy and Romina Cohn.
Captain Mustache is from Paris and has been toiling away on this project for many years. He has worked with electro & techno idols including Adamski, The Advent and Paris The Black Fu who have all helped bring an extra vocal dimension to his music. Inspired by 80's pioneers, Detroit techno and electroclash freaks, his sounds is a freaky mix of romantic, burlesque and cold electro styles from the future.
The title track here kicks things off with the help of the iconic Chicks on Speed. It's a stark and futuristic cut with deadpan vocals and crisp melodies that bring heartfelt emotion. Romina Cohn provides the vocals on 'Besame Esta Noche', a spaced out electro journey that takes you through the stars on a skeletal groove that is perfectly icy.
Things get more unhinged with the trippy 'Body x Mind', which has darker vocals and edgy chords accompanying the frozen drums and then Mateo Murphy steps up to remix. The Canadian veteran
reworks 'Mentally Naked' into a loopy cut that is constantly on the rise. It keeps you perfectly in suspense and lost in the vocals, while his dub is just as special.
This is high class electro to kick off My Favorite Robot's 2020 in style.

Born in 1980 and raised in the Detroit area, Luke Hess has harnessed a deep appreciation for electronic music and the expression of the underground movement. 

His background in mathematics and engineering has given him a scientific approach to the dance floor, using frequencies, tones, and soundscapes to transform surroundings and mood. 
In 2003 he recorded his first promotional mix CD release for UR/Submerge. Since then, his faith based music production has landed him a seat with FXHE and Planet-e in Detroit. 

His debut album was released in early May 2009 by Denmark based label Echocord. 
In 2010 he began his own interpretation of Detroit techno with his new Detroit project and record label - DeepLabs. 

His sophomore album “Keep On” was released on FXHE records in 2012 and received a Recommended 4.5/5 rating on Resident Advisor. 

Hess is regarded as a perfectionist in his live sets and behind the decks layering his tracks in a very detailed and hypnotic manner. 
He has played at notable venues and events such as Tresor (Berlin), Culture Box (Copenhagen), Berghain (Berlin), Unit (Tokyo), Detroit Electronic Music Festival (Detroit), Fabric (London), The End Up (San Francisco), Golden Pudel (Hamburg), Sirup (Zagreb), Weekend Club (Berlin), Cubic Club (Madrid), Space (Ibiza), The Bunker (NYC) and many other venues all over the world. 

Luke’s continued hard work in the studio and in his performances combined with his unyielding interest in technology and sound will no doubt stimulate the boundaries of electronic music.
