Grammy Nominated music producer & Billboard charting artist Bill Hamel (aka Fatum)is best known for his 18 #1 Billboard Dance Chart remixes for mainstream artists on major labels such as Ultra Music, Interscope, Warner Brothers, Armada, and many more, but his extensive production career spans across genres ranging from melodic progressive house to drum n’ bass to electro house/EDM. Self-described as playing “everything but country,” this podcast explores a foray into yet another genre for an artist who refuses to be confined or labeled. With a unique dark and melodic sound characterized by moody tension and dramatic synth stabs, French producer THe WHite SHadow @thewhiteshadowfr [Einmusika, Crossfrontier Audio, Tenampa, Chilli Mint Digital] is easily a favourite up-and-coming new artist of 2014. You may have heard “Snowflake” on Alex Niggemann’s Snowbombing podcast, “The Sky” in Hernan Cattaneo’s Podcast 186, or “Flying” in Dave Seaman’s Radio Therapy October.

This incredibly awesome podcast progresses perfectly as a journey into deeper and darker, almost sinister depths, commencing with a subtly foreboding Middle-eastern sounding rhythm before descending into thick moody vibes… then, halfway in, things take a turn towards dark and ominous techno, heavily brooding over forcefully driving beats.

As a pianist since age 5, and professor of music theory and saxophone player from 18 onward in Paris, the influence of French producer Mashk's extensive musical background is pervasively evident in his melodic approach to dance music. Right at home on Solee's label Parquet of Germany (one of our favourites), he has woven such gorgeous and emotive tracks like "Home" and "Last Breath," and more recently has released his debut 17-track album, the aptly-named "Melodies."

This mix is a rich tapestry of emotion, including original productions "Hermes," the gorgeously twinkling "Home," "Danke Normen F," and others; as well as Recondite - "Garbo" (Original Mix), Matthew Dekay - "Fangtango" (Original Mix), and Florian Rietze - Treibhaus (Mpathy Remix).
