“ It is highly probable that Ancient Greek initiates gained their knowledge of the philosophic and therapeutic aspects of music from the Egyptians, who in turn considered Hermes the founder of the art. According to one legend, Hermes constructed the first lyre by stretching strings across the concavity of a turtle shell. Both Isis and Osiris were patrons of music and poetry. Plato, in describing the antiquity of these arts among the Egyptians, declared that songs and poetry had existed in Egypt for at least ten thousand years, and that these were of such an exalted and inspiring nature that only gods or godlike men could have composed them. In the Mysteries, the lyre was regarded as the secret symbol of the human constitution, the body of the instrument representing the physical form, the strings being the nerves, and the musician the spirit. Playing upon the nerves, the spirit thus created the harmonies of normal functioning, which, however, became discords if the nature of man were defiled.” 



This is the Theory that follows Sabatine in her quest of transmitting sound vibrations through her creations.

Born Oana Maria Puciu in the small town of Craiova in Romania, this star being was attracted to the curative aspects of sound frequencies since a very early age.
Always on the lookout to perfect her spirit and find her true purpose in life, she moves to the Netherlands in the first part of her life. It is there while riding her bike to work on a sunny morning she discovers her purpose...the very reason for her being on this planet.
Finding her self mesmerised by the sounds of high frequencies of binaural beats that used to help her sleep and relax her distressed spirit, she decides to assist others in putting their essence in place. She then understood that the only constant in her life was music .
How did Sabatine come to be?

As she felt powerless in the possibility of loosing her identity from the desire to dedicate her own life for the greater good of the human kind, she started having nightmares where her fears were depicted in  the form of a negative character who would torment her sleep. After many sleepless nights, she decides to look this fear in it’s eyes, acknowledge it for what it is  and incorporate it in her being. This acceptance was manifested in the form of a warrior like character that made it’s appearance in her dreams and assisted Oana in facing her fears. She vividly remembers asking the warrior woman her name. The reply without  hesitation was : Sabatine.
And this is how Sabatine came to be. She emerged from the deep chambers of her subconscious self only to become her muse and inspiration. It was from then on that Oana's shy nature dissipated gradually to make room for the confident artist that she is today.
This confidence is reflected in her musical compositions whatever those are, original tracks, podcasts or live sets that are truly unique and inspiring portraying a musical picture of realms that are filled with colourful frequencies. Deep heavy bass lines accompanied by dreamy atmospheres and foot shuffling drum hits, with ethereal backdrops and occasional vocal hooks that one might translate this as new age experimental techno. Never afraid to go too deep, her emotive musical expressions become a form of therapy.  
Her selfless quest brought Sabatine to one of the most amazing places in the world and as she started her journey in  2010 in Amsterdam, where she learned the science of mixing records,  playing for the Awakenings Festival pre party alongside other local Djs. And this was only the beginning,  not long after this she got discovered by a prestigious underground radio station “minimalstation” with a residency that brought her the title “Queen of Minimal Techno” and although she remained humble to the fame her quest continued. It was often that her live sets were on the top of the charts as most popular right above well established names in the industry.                                    

Keeping the momentum going she would take over the planet, between 2010 and 2014 she travels the world. India, Germany, Italy, France, The Netherlands, Finland are some of the places where you would find her spreading healing frequencies. Having the privilege to spin in numerous and exotic locations be it clubs,  festivals, private parties, radio stations, has made Sabatine a well established artist in a very short time, and in the spring of 2014 she got discovered by a Berlin record label “Deep Square”, under which  she released the EP titled “Rain” which hit the Beatport charts soon after it’s release in August 2014, bringing the tracks remixed by Iori Wakasa and Frazer Campbell “Rain” and “Just Jane ” on top 10 of download charts.  June 2014  brought Sabatine to Kosmos  Festival in Finland and July on the pages of “DJ Mag ” as a result of a DJ  completion that she participated in.
The hard work and dedication was paying off. The End of August 2014  brought her a new  contract with one of the top 10 Best Labels in the World  “Quanticman Records”  who’s attention got caught by one of her special productions titled “Falufas”, a track filled with skilled analog high vibration frequencies.
Today you can find her in her home studio, or hear her play at "Insomnia Fm" on her monthly show "Techno Sonic" spinning internationally whether it is in Berlin, Bucharest, Amsterdam or  Goa. Do find out where she is, and you will feel privileged to be part of her musical journey.

mark through our existence no matter what that is..
I chose to save time by leaving my music behind.. I am guided by inner peace when I create and none of
my creations follow trends, playing and producing strictly according to my mood..
So one might call it deep, one might call it dark, one might call it techno.. I just call it harmonious
frequencies...
I do get inspired by what other artists do , but I am a strong believer of keeping ones identity and
originality intact so that , whatever we leave behind stands out and touches the hearts and minds of the
ones that need it... Thankful to all the ones that inspired me to get to where I am now ,to my friend and
producer that stressed me to make as much music as possible , to the places that allowed me to breathe
their culture in, for the extraordinary sunsets I have witnessed , for the seas that washed my body and the
nights I spent loving , the amazing people showing up at my gigs and the ones supporting me all over the
world, for Lori the cat as she puts up with all my moods and my lover who always supports me no matter
what I do…

Fixate is the latest name to make his mark in the 85 /170bpm axis. His productions have come to prominence via two collaborations with Chimpo titled 'Dumb' and 'Bun It' released on Exit Records and a two solo EPs.

Around the time of the Chimpo collabs conversations began about a solo EP of his own, the results of which made up the Throwback Therapy EP. The title track for the EP has become an anthem due to its amalgam of rave, juke & jungle whilst the rest of the EP takes a form all of its own.

His style is best described by Exit Records figurehead dBridge: "We all know the standardised drum & bass steps but Fixate's work can have a different swing to it that I really like. It highlights my belief that this tempo still has a lot to offer" Now we have The March On EP, a triumph of styles that has already gained support from across the electronic music scene.

This is a track that I produced inspired by the difficult lockdown period. It is a production that differs considerably from my usual techno style, because this time I personally wrote and sang a lyric, also choosing a more melodic and musical arrangement. All violin parts are played live!

Yulia Niko: The Crosstown Mix Show 012

Thank you for finding the latest in the In Too Deep series.  I wanted to drop a set that summed up what we have nearly all felt we have missed in 2020.  The ability to start a night out with a few chill tunes just to get us in the mood, maybe a couple of ‘pre drinks’… the anticipation of the night ahead… and then the night itself.  Funky Chap and I wanted to create a set that carried you through the journey of a great night out from beginning to end to remind us all that it won’t be long until we are able to get out there again and share a great time with friends and fresh tunes to match.
For this set you will find Funky Chap spinning the first hour in typical fashion from him.. an eclectic style that I struggle to find anyone else managing with such a cool and well, funky approach.  I’d say it’s very unique, and that’s what I love about him.  As head honcho of one of the best and most established channels out there with Sunset Grooves, it was a great honour to have him aboard for this trip.

So I play the second hour, and I’m going back to my roots with a peak time clubby sound that I wanted you to close your eyes and imagine you are there amongst it all, with the wonderful people, the lights, the bass, hands in the air.. ah, how we miss it !
We really appreciate you joining us and hope you enjoy this set.

From Funky Chap..   I have been a fan of John’s edits and track selection from the moment I first heard him. Therefore the moment we got together to make this in too deep mix and being in charge of starting it off, I got inspired to choose tracks that would take the dance floor on a unique musical experience. Naturally, being the founder of @sunset-grooves my track selection always varies yet has that groove that will keep driving the mix. The idea is to get the listener all warmed up so that John can take over and exhaust the listeners to a frenzy. Bio:

Hertfordshire lad and self taught music producer, Myles Webb aka Xspance, Inspired by film scores and uplifting music that tells a story. He is a huge fan of artists like Jon Hopkins, Ulrich Schnauss...to name a few. After discovering his style as a UK based Electronic music producer, Myles finished and self released his debut album ‘Night Echoes’ in Feb 2014 on bandcamp, He since has remixed numerous tracks including music from the album from Echaskech – Origin, one of which appeared on the huge Touched Two compilation. He’s collaborated with Joey Fehrehbach & Audioglider who themselves have made many appearances seminal releases such as Nick Warren’s Paris GU30 compilation in 2006.
After being discovered by Norman Hines Stripped label, Xspance released his sultry track “Disappear With Me”. And over the years has since released several singles, EPs and LPs over a myriad of labels - Section Records, Ant-Zen, Just Music, Stellar Fountain, Hydrogen, NYLO, ICONYC, Traumwelten, BC2, Mirabilis Records, Loki Recordings, Mango Alley, Krafted Underground, ASTIR, Emotional Content Recordings, Honeys Drops, Pro B Tech.

At the start of 2017, Myles also got the opportunity to host his own monthly radio show called Eclipsed on blooplondon.com with some great guest artists. 

This is going to be a very busy year for Myles, he is currently putting the finishing touches to 2 collaboration projects with songwriter and vocalist Daniela Rhodes and Joey Fehrenbach both long players which are set for release in the early part of 2021, so watch this space!
