For the 17th instalment of Schmaus, we are happy to receive CK, an established DJ and producer from London, UK. Being a classic Hip-hop enthusiast in his youth, CK had a major call for electronic music after frequenting events at infamous Fabric London and Space Club in Romania. At the age of 30, in 2012, he first attended a DJing course followed by a production one at Subbass Academy in London. One year later, CK won three DJ competitions in a row: EDC London, Movida Corona UK & Amnesia Ibiza DJ Challenge and released his first EP—Back from SubBass. Since then, the artist released music on various labels, including Tonic D Records and owns the podcast platform called DEEP MVMT.

CK’s performance is off to a flying start with windy noises and a massive groove going straight to the point : he takes us in a flawless procession of powerful peak time tech tracks. The energy is flowing under acousmatic popping hits and rolling sequencers.His careful selection is centred around rubber sub-basses with a big room flavour.
He balances his mix through positive and major soundscapes, pumping rhythms and abstract elements. We revel in uplifting vocals here and there, witness of his musical experience in Ibiza, always in a refreshing dynamic mixing manner.
Then the artist slowly drifts towards a Romanian setting with more abstract yet driving and captivating pieces, including delicious remixes from Raz:van and Herck, only to name a few.
In the end, CK’s musical background shows a timeless approach to minimal dance music. In a look back to House and Tech-House, the artist makes an implicit promise to make you move until the morning shine.

Paco Osuna's record label, Mindshake, welcomes the return of GruuvElement's, who presents a tribal tech house EP with rolling basslines.

GruuvElement's is a Romanian artist featuring on Mindshake for the second time. His upbeat style of tech house utilises live percussion fills and stripped back grooves, and his music has been released on other prestigious record labels ranging from Crosstown Rebels to Solid Grooves Raw.

This four-track release is tailor-made for the dance floor, and each of the tracks have been heavily supported in Paco Osuna's recent DJ sets. GruuvElement's music has also been played by other DJs ranging from Marco Carola to Carl Cox.

"Sweat" opens the release with explosive snare hits, saxophone flurries, and a funky bassline. Next up is the title track, "Clap to the Beat," which has a hypnotic groove utilising the slick tones of captivating vocals. "Afterparty" has hedonistic vocals and trippy trumpet stabs layered over fast-paced percussion. "Euphoric" closes the release with an infectious bassline, underpinning vibrant percussion and quirky vocals.
