Ever since his first exposure to House music in the 90s, Salin has thrown himself into
producing, DJing and all facets of hardware discovery. His initial work on white labels and
edits blossomed into the formation of Salin Records, which he has used as an outlet for his
recent creative expressions. His sound is firmly established in house traditions, with expert
groove lines and melodic sequences being utilized to full effect, but it is his love of
equipment which has continued to fuel his desire to explore his sound to the fullest. His
tunes are fun, fresh and emotive, bringing together the very best of the genre, with his own
personal twist on things riding front and centre throughout his enriching discography.

"Thank you so much for inviting me to take part in your guest mix series. It means a lot to me to be here, so I created two edits for this mix. I have also included some unreleased tracks and demos and "Let’s Go Deep" and "Keep It Up" from my latest EP "Raw Stuff" which came out Friday this week (June 27th). I recorded the whole mix live in my studio using two XDJs, two SL1210 MK2s and a Radius 4 rotary mixer and FX unit. I haven't edited anything afterwards, as I wanted to preserve the energy of a live set (mistakes and all). I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed recording it!" - @christophesalin

Waves Within is a genre-blending triumph from Mexican producers Luca Ferrand and Selva in which they serve up sounds that evolve through deep house, broken beat, jazz, nu-disco and hip-hop. Opener 'Bona Fide' pairs dusty jazz and disco-house with a slick hip-hop switch and some superbly sunny melodies. 'Zarapes (After the Rain)' marries Mexican folk and broken beat, then 'Back To That Thang' twists jazz guitar into a genre-fluid ride and the title track evokes tropical 90s house. Closer 'Lynx' is a shapeshifting house cut with bulbous bass and sophisticated sound design that really brings it to life.

It's August, and we're ready to show you what we've got lined up for these hot summer days — Seasons of Groove by Jude Brown!

If you remember from last year, we released a stellar EP called Sunshine on the New Beginning by TshegoTMM & Vencer Café — two of South Africa's finest up-and-coming producers. That EP featured a remix by Jude Brown, which was a fantastic addition.

We're happy to have Jude back on board with his first original production for Cromarti Records. We believe he's certainly one to watch for his ability to create tasty grooves.

Jude is an artist of unique calibre within the South African deep house scene. His productions and DJ style tend to infuse elements of jazz, funk, garage, and disco. He's known for his versatility — from bouncy grooves to deep, sultry sounds. Whether he's working house floors or disco beach parties, his style always shines through.

To date, his productions have been released on some of the world’s leading labels, including Nervous Records, Salted Music, Papa Records, Sub-Urban, and Moiss Music. On top of that, he also founded his own label, Sandega Records, to create a space for like-minded artists.

To pair with Jude's original, we’ve brought in Jehan from France for remix duties. We’ve had our eye on Jehan for some time and were just waiting for the right track to ask him to collaborate with us. Jude’s track was perfect — and Jehan turned in a version that was exactly what we were expecting for a track titled "Seasons Of Groove".

In addition to his knack for creating deeper, tasteful sounds, Jehan has an exceptional ability to craft grooves with a classic flair — the kind you can’t help but nod your head to, and flare your nose like something funky’s cooking in the kitchen. We think you’ll know exactly what we mean when you hear his version.

Christophe​ ​Salin​ is a music enthusiast — a producer, music collector, DJ and equipment lover based in Lübeck/Germany. Together with his wife, Daria Salin, he runs ​Salin Records​, as a platform for art and electronic music.

Christophe is a house music lover all through. Jazz and disco have a deep influence on his work. Having his teens in the early 2000s he is also touched by the hypnotic-loop-orientated music from back in those days.
