From MARICAS we want to support our local and international community of artists, as well as create content for all our queer fam that is isolated in their homes. We know will get out of this together very soon. In the meantime, we have create this new digital platform called HOUSE OF MARICAS: the art of staying at home, where we will be doing live streamings, digital content, virtual exhibitions, challenges and interviews. Here we will be showcasing different queer / music / art content, created with a bunch of very talented artists / activists, for you to enjoy at home. The aim of this, apart of creating entertainment and learnings for our isolations, is to support local artists, that are losing their jobs due to this crisis. We created this platform to try to help our family of queer artists, that's why we kindly ask you, that if you enjoy our content and can afford it, to please make a donation to our paypal account. This donations will be divided entirely among all the artists involved.

Very pleased to have Sedgwick as guest here on Deeprhythms, a multi-talented Australian DJ, producer and co-owner of the superb Potatoheadz imprint. The mix is 100% his own productions, so it sure is a special treat.

"The mix is an hour and a half of my own material, including some tracks that have previously been released, some tracks that will soon be released and some tracks that up until now have only been heard by me.

I think it shows a range of different styles and influences, as a lot of the material varies greatly depending on whatʼs going on for me personally. I definitely donʼt consider myself to be strictly an Electro producer, or strictly a House producer or anything like that."

The 6th mix of our series comes from the mysterious and exceptionally talented S.O.N.S. We have been a fan of his music since the beginning and have in most occasions stocked his highly sought-after releases here at the shop. Now we’ve been presented with an expertly crafted mix of mostly ambient music from the man himself and we couldn’t be happier with the result. Carpet Music: Mix Series 006 w/ S.O.N.S

After a brief break period in TheGrid mix series we bring you a special 2 hour set from Non-Temporal head honcho Jeku.

Jeku, who also lived in Berlin and sought inspiration there, is now known as part of the Helsinki-based Local Deep collective. His eclectic DJ sets bring us the sounds of House, off grid 303's and classics. Jeku's production's have been released with the Turku-based Mood of the Era label, with a release on his own Non-Temporal records  (Radical Error EP) finding its way onto Jane Fitz Juno recommendations and for good reasons.

Roy Mills' productions are tripped-out explorations into the outer realms of the dancefloor psyche. Always referencing 90’s UK sounds, Roy neatly weaves sound system experimentalism, post-rave storytelling and movement-focused energy into sunrise-adoring bass music and techno.

His DJ sets are both seismically bone-rattling and unpredictable; always twisting, turning and catching the dancer off-guard. He played in Bristol with Cando and Monika Tenaska before the world was put on hold and was due to tour Asia and Europe with his endearing sound.

Roy is a regular in the Rinse FM studios and has provided mixes to Chile’s JOIA magazine and Fake Rolex, Bristol’s Noods Radio and Sydney’s number one bass-leaning show, Body Promise.

2019 saw Roy debut a single on Andy Garvey’s Pure Space records. Shortly after, he moved to London from Melbourne where he launched his label Local Knowledge Records with Melbourne stalwarts DJ Mum and Issa, while also releasing his debut LP as a private press CD. Recently, Roy produced two EP’s, an LP, and scored a short film; all due for release later this year. 

This absorbing mix of contemporary dance music is the perfect start to the new year.
