Bil-sol is a DJ and events organiser based on the sunny southeast coast of England. He's been running parties with 22 Tapes since 2017 holding parties at venues such as corsica studios and The Cause. As well as 22Tapes he runs a music & arts platform titled Aquatic Formations which focuses on dreamy Aesthetics and even dreamier and euphoric side of electronic music.

An avid record collector and 90's electronic music fanatic - Bil tries to showcase all spectrums of his collection in his mixes.

Stumbling across Geo's Reminiscence Of A Park Party mix a couple of years ago and then rinsing his addition to our fav Steeplejack series, we were instant GeoFans. 

The Aussie DJ has had us racing around town with his recordings and so whilst we wait to get the chance to hear one of these magic sets live, we thought we'd get him to put together a recording for the mix series. "I know it sounds cliché but I just wanted it to feel like a journey. I worked really hard to try and connect the beginning to the end in a way that felt like it was building gradually, and hopefully I’ve achieved that. I quite like the idea of taking two steps forward in a mix and then one step back, I like the idea of building tension this way with soundscapes and changing tempos. It’s a nice combination of some tunes I’ve heard out this summer as well as some really eery ambient sounds I’ve been collecting :) I think in my notes for what I wanted the mix to be, I’ve written “eery vocals and lush baselines” 

Some tracks I’m really loving from it are the “Big Ever - Zoner (Zoned Mix)”, “Emkay - Drop Down” recently released on Craigie Knowes, a track from Memotones album just released on Accidental Meetings (which is beautiful), and an unreleased track from OCB (Casa Voyager) - shout out Driss for always sending me tunes and bigging me up!"

"1020 radio and Threads resident + Club Neptune co-founder, Dj wiggles.

After quite a long time on AAJA, I’ve just joined 1020 radio with a new show every third Tuesday of the month.

As well as this, I run club neptune which is a not-for-profit party run by 5 friends. The party was born out of a joint desire to keep dance floors as safe possible, and in one of our bids to keep our events safe, our brand is off social media, and instead we promote via a small but growing WhatsApp group of friends and extended friends. We throw our parties at different unannounced venues each event, and always try and keep them to very DIY spaces. Our next event will be our 1st birthday which is coming up in December, more TBA soon.

I’m also launching a new online platform / web radio series called off limits. The station / concept will consist of bi-weekly (to start with) streams curated by me, but also via a submission system. All sets will be recorded from a DIY space in London, and my aim is to bring upcoming and established artists into the same space to create new communities and connections. I will also be working alongside promoters via collaborations, to try and bring some diversity to Londons line ups. Hopefully through this platform I can help shine the spotlight onto some of these artists and give them the chance to breakthrough into more regular gigs, and a scene which often feels, off limits. 

This is due to launch in January, and will hopefully be either monthly or bi-weekly depending on the space :)"

Happy New Year! We're starting off 2023 with a bang as we welcome Renzo for our first mix of the year. 

Hailing from Australia, Mats has created his own sound through his productions, they give easy access to all types of soundscapes making them perfect for slotting into any kind of mix. Incorporating numerous genres, his productions have percussive textures, lush sound design, and deep bass driven arrangements oozing inspiration from Progressive-Techno, 2000s Dubstep, Drum Funk and DnB. 

As for the mix Mats has showcased a mind bending selection of DnB and half tempo rhythms bringing us to deep psychedelic waters with incredibly smooth blends and pacing throughout.

He had a few words to say about this mix: "This mix capsulated my musical inspirations over 2022, some old, some new. It’s packed with released and unreleased local music. I’ve never been more excited and inspired by my local scene and I’m super grateful for everyone pushing such awesome music”

My Coymix Ltd label partner in crime, the Gestalt Records & Hidden Assets main man and ½ of the Abdul Raeva production duo (and an overall super nice guy) Steffan T sat down for a chat and to record his 2nd guest mix for the DR series (1st one under the Gestalt Recs. alias). Currently residing in Tallinn, Steffan is keeping himself busy with all things related to music.

"So the mix, can you tell us a little something about that? 

Over the past 12 months so much good music has surfaced, most likely because of the isolation and everything. So I wanted to put together a selection of what would’ve, under normal circumstances, been my ‘go-to club hammers’ this year.
