I'm back after a short pause with an all new Undercurrents episode 45. It's been a crazy busy few months as I was working on launching my new freelance professional voiceover business - 'bonifyVO' - which I hope will be a much better path in the long term than the unstable 9-5 corporate world.

All Day I Dream Podcast 001: Gorje Hewek & Izhevski

It was well into the night when we commenced our search for the Robot Heart Bus. We say search, as the sand storm started earlier in the night had completely covered the desert, making the visibility extremely limited. Since this was our first Burning Man, we weren't well prepared for the fury that nature would bring - our eyes were filled with sand as the shivers of the cold night rolled through our bones. We drove around aimlessly not always knowing whether we're headed in the right direction. All the directional signs were completely covered in sand and any people around us were just as disoriented by the storm while trying to find their own path. 

After a while we noticed a silhouette resembling a glowing heart. As we started moving towards it, there was no doubt that the Robot Heart Bus was in front of us. There really isn't anything like it, and if you haven't seen it before it's not easy to paint its picture with words. Completely covered in speakers and a large flickering heart at the top, the bus stands in the middle of the desert. It's filled with amazing people, who immediately make you feel as if you've known them for a lifetime. 

There are places on earth that are so rapt with special meaning, that from the moment you experience them... the first minute, this unique, magical atmosphere shakes you to your core and settles comfortably into your soul for eternity. For us, Robot Heart at Burning Man is definitely one of those places.

Aftersunday - "Above The Sky" - Podcast #4

The 55th edition of the MindTrip Podcast, comes from the west coast of USA and it's courtesy of Drumcell. Real name Moe Espinosa, he has was born in San Gabriel Valley, a culturally diverse neighborhood that still breeds inspiration for his work. San Gabriel Valley is also where he and the Raíz brothers, Vangelis and Vidal, met and founded Droid Behavior in the early 2000s which lead to the infamous Interface warehouse series and launch of the techno label Droid Recordings. He has a long history as a dj and producer of original and remixed tracks on his own label Droid as well as on CLR, Electric Deluxe, Dystopian, Torque, Detroit Underground, and much more.

In 2016, Drumcell debuted his ambient project HYPOXIA on his experimental label BL_K NOISE. Inspired by science fiction soundtracks and the sounds of artists like John Carpenter, Wendy Carlos, Goblin and Vangelis. Hypoxia was created to step away from the dance floor and into a broader space of contemplative drama. After moving to Berlin in 2014, Amotik has been steadily building a base in the city that significantly inspired him. Starting in 2015 with a series of EPs on his self-titled imprint, he was soon regularly featured in the Groove Magazine and Resident Advisor monthly charts. Having developed a unique style of hypnotic/atmospheric techno with a relentless raw undertone, his consistency as both a DJ and producer has seen him perform at some of the most exciting clubs and festivals around the globe.
After 10 vinyl releases on his own label (and guest appearances on 47, Bpitch Control, Figure), late 2019 saw Amotik take on the most ambitious release to date – ‘Vistar’ (Hindi for expand/extended). The first full-length double vinyl LP on his label was also accompanied by a debut live tour to end the year.

Groove Magazine’s ‘Essential Albums’ and also earned Mixmag’s ‘Album of the Month’ title.
2020 sees Goethebunker and Amotik team up for ‘Adyant’. A new bi-monthly party at the renowned Essen venue. Adyant (Hindi meaning: ‘Beginning to End’) is a new series where Amotik will have the opportunity to curate and invite guests who have inspired his journey, as well as playing extended sets himself. The club is a long-standing mainstay in Essen, constructed from a former bomb shelter with a powerful function one sound system. The perfect setting to commence the Adyant series.
