There are many different ways that the biosphere affects climate. Some produce greenhouse gases and promote warming of our planet through the greenhouse effect, while others reduce the amount of greenhouse gases promoting cooling of our planet. Thereby, by trapping heat, greenhouse gases contribute to our planet's warming and the biosphere provides the necessary environmental conditions for survival. And of course, Biosphere is the moniker of one Geir Janssen, who has been a constant influence on ambient music throughout his career. Sai has been a music nerd since her youth, influenced by styles like postpunk, dark wave, ska, jungle, DnB, and techno. Two trips to Jamaica in the late '90s deepened her passion for dancehall and sound system culture, with the heavy basslines of dub and raggamuffin having a lasting impact on her.

After the pandemic she established the podcast series “Moments Of Light And Darkness” and just began to release mixes by guest djs. In May 2024 we met her at the Superbooth Berlin and listened together to some live dub music. Finally she contributes a dj-mix to our podcast series.

The 31st FIBER Podcast expresses the ideas of regrowth and rejuvenation after a long winter. Silent Season’s label boss Jamie McCue takes us to the coast of British Columbia for a two hour long journey of deep and ethereal sounds inspired by the radiant beauty of the rainforests of Canada’s Vancouver Island. “I recorded this mix in my back garden chilling out in the sun with a few friends.
