@kindredmusicsa, hails from Johannesburg and currently resides in Cape Town. A dynamic artist, Kindred is a singer, songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer who experiments in multiple genres but is best known for specializing in Deep-Electronic.

Kindred was born from a need to turn emotion into frequency — to give form to the invisible. After years of writing and performing acoustically, McKai discovered electronic music not as technology, but as alchemy — a way to fuse human vulnerability with precision and sound design. Every track became a translation of feeling, every mix a form of communication beyond words. His music doesn’t just exist to be heard — it exists to be felt.

His sonic journey began with acoustic instruments, mastering piano and guitar, and grew into a lifelong fascination with how tone, texture, and rhythm can move people. The result is a sound that feels both human and digital — a rich tapestry influenced by rock, reggae, soul, jazz, and electronic music. Each piece reflects his belief that every frequency carries emotion, and every emotion deserves sound.

Since 2020, Kindred has been running @pocketfoodaudio, a record label and mix series dedicated to deep electronic music. He has a prolific output with multiple releases on various labels, showcasing his versatility and commitment to his craft.

Kindred has collaborated with notable artists such as @musa-malibe on the @deepstitched-1 label for the track “Glimpse Of Light”, and with @bientami on @pocketfoodaudio for the track “Wanting You.” In 2022, he formed a duo with @vicmarick known as @mythofficialwav, resulting in a well-acclaimed 10-track album titled “Mystery Project.”

In 2021, Kindred was featured in A&R Factory Mag and Vents Mag for his album “Before You Dream.” His music has also received international attention, with radio interviews and mixes broadcasted on @beshknow (Iran), @radioelectronicajena (Germany), and @radioflouka (France).
