Madtech Records welcomes back UK DJ/producer Jhonsson to the label this May to deliver his ‘Octik’
EP, accompanied by a remix from Wheats.

With a musical career stretching back almost two decades, and following a considerable breakthrough year in
2014, Barnsley’s Jhonsson has quickly become a rising name within house and beyond to make note of.

Following releases on the likes of Knee Deep In Sound, Toolroom and Resonance Records, plus remixes for
the likes of Bontan, Cera Alba and Vibe Killers, and support from key industry heavyweights, here we see the
Yorkshire based producer return to Madtech Records to deliver two fresh, driving and melodic cuts, whilst
fellow UK talent Wheats steps up on remix duties.

Rich, snaking synth leads hang over ever-evolving basslines as title cut ‘Optik’ opens the EP, whilst tension
building snare fills combine with warping sub tones to reveal a powerful, peak time production destined to
make noise in the months ahead.

Next up, Wheat’s interpretation of ‘Octik’ shifts the focus towards more percussive territories, as tracky drum
loops and skipping hats combine to form a slick, rolling groove, before ‘Kham Kham’ shapes

Lakosa & iO are third to grace the MadTech roster with their dancefloor banger Home Early, which features remixes by West Norwood Cassette Library and the 17 year old exceptionally talented experimental grime producer Pedro 123.

Home Early is a punchy house track weighted by bass and marching with the suave speed of 4/4 house. Its sultry vocals and samples tease the determined beat that drops in and out developing a bold breakdown.  The track sits nicely between house and UK bass, giving it the flexibility to sit within an array of styles in future sets and mixes.

West Norwood Cassette Library's remix gives the original a disco tinge with the use of strings and vintage sounding samples. The vocal is scrunched and ricochets neatly off the carefully placed beats and samples. 

The Pedro 123 remix gives the original a smack of grime and a refreshing sound.  Pedro stretches the vocal into a smooth echo that drifts over the top of his clipped punching bass line.  A grime-tinged wobble and a bassy beat resonates beneath Pedro’s impeccable percussive production.

Welcoming him back to Oliver Huntemann’s killer Senso Sounds, 'Hypersonic' is a four track EP of rare quality.

'Don’t Know' kicks it off, a bruising, powerful cut that combines a tough-as-nails rhythm section with bubbling, acidic vibes. EP title track 

'Hypersonic' ups the ante even more - driving drums provide the bedrock for expressive percussion and a devastating bass pulse. 

'Simultan' continues the party -
a tech-house monster with filthy sub bass waves and firing rhythm track. The digital bonus track

'Rover' is a stripped down burner of a track with laser cut grooves and thick, atmospheric synth stabs that echo around the audio field.

Pig&Dan signal their first solo outing on Drumcode since 2016, with a stirring four-track work.

The duo stands as one of electronic music’s most prolific artists, shapeshifting between different shades of house and techno over a 15+ year period, all the while displaying a startling breadth that’s ensured their enduring demand. Their relationship with Adam Beyer has solidified over the years, first impressing with a debut EP ‘Mexico’ in 2016, before collaborating with the Swede himself in 2017 for the fantastic four-tracker ‘Capsule’, a notable highlight. With their contribution to last year’s A-Sides compilation ‘La Bruja’ one of the strongest of the bunch, their return for a full-length EP is timely. 

Title track ‘Infinity’ is rave-infused stadium techno crafted to perfection, driven by an undulating melodic lead that builds to a tension-packed break, before the chords re-appear and propel the track toward a trippy finale. Vocal cut ‘Losing Part of Me’ is momentous, with punchy bass and pin-sharp percussion juxtaposing superbly with the emotive vocal and laser-kissed melodic touches. ‘Terrax’ is propelled by woozy synth leads that escalate in intensity, before unexpectedly dropping into a series of soothing synth interludes, before slamming back in with purpose. The EP concludes with ‘Plex’, as a brooding melody line is paired with pumping percussion for an atmosphere-heavy finale.

It’s been a while since we released a V/A on Noir Music and I only ever compile them whenever I feel I have 5-6 tracks that stand out.

Dark Stars Volume 4 has been 6 months in the making and yes..... I know I am picky with the music I sign. I hear that on an almost daily basis.
But even though I could pick music from many different artists it still took me months of compiling, testing the music in clubs and at festivals and then putting together the tracks I felt stood out and complimented each other.

The great thing about V/A’s is that you get the chance to put together a release from artists with completely different sounds and ideas.
Although the sound of Dark Stars Volume 4 is quite minimal sounding overall, it still reflects musicality and great in-depth productions by skillful and experienced artists.
Another great thing about Volume 4 is that these are all artists who make their debut on Noir Music.

I truly love playing every single track from this release and I enjoy watching the crowds reactions around the globe.
I feel no need to get deeper into detail about the specific tracks, as the music will speak for itself.

Madtech welcomes four more rising talents to their Various Artist series with a selection of deep cuts from Aron Volta, Juliche Hernandez, Lose Endz and Attek.

Formed as a sister imprint of Madhouse in 2012, Madtech Records has since clocked up hundreds of releases from some of house music’s best emerging talent, as well as material from some of the biggest names on the scene. Following on from their latest instalment, Madtech’s Various Artist series returns this July tying together productions from Dutch producer Aron Volta, following releases on the likes of Blind Visions and PIV Records, Downhill Music label boss and Spanish artist Juliche Hernandez, recent Nurvous Records signee Lose Endz and Amsterdam’s Attek.

Kicking things off, acid melodies float in and out of Aron Volta’s intricately crafted ‘Eprom Burner’, a cut held together by a deep bass groove and spiralling effects, until Juliche Hernandez layers robotic zaps, spacey atmospherics and bouncy pads with echoing vocals to evoke an otherworldly feel in ‘Orbitax’. Next up, Lose Endz’ ‘Pirucha’ takes it darker with raw kicks, a dubby bass and warm atmospherics, while Attek’s ‘Stuck In My Head’ is a stripped back Detroit house number, coloured with crispy high hats and soulful stabbing chords.

Madtech 05 drops on Madtech Records on 5th July 2019.

Known for championing productions from both exciting rising and emerging talents through to some of the biggest names in the industry, Madtech Records has established itself as a staple label for many since its inception back in 2012. Having recently revisited their self-titled V/A series, with contributions from the likes of Juliche Hernandez, Ray Mono and Kreutziger across the recent two instalments, the label now invites a fresh set of rising names to deliver four impressive cuts to the Madtech catalogue, welcoming recent PIV signee Alex Ranerro, London’s Max Casebolt, Argentinian Cajal and highly tipped DJ and producer Nikizi this August.

Slovenia’s Alex Ranerro opens the package with the slick ‘Usual Thing’, combining rich, warm chords and skipping percussion effortlessly, whilst Max Casebot’s ‘Focus’ switches up the aesthetic as garage-tinged basslines and slinking drums take control. Next, Cajal’s Lost Phone Mix of ‘2i418’ keeps the tempo high as skipping hats and a bubbling bass groove lead the charge, before Nikizi closes the EP and winds things down with the hypnotic and dubbed out ‘Palermo’.

Roberto Capuano returns with his first Drumcode EP since 2015.

The Neapolitan has long occupied a special place in the heart of Adam Beyer. His cut ‘Never Stop’ is one of the finest Truesoul releases in recent years and he came up trumps with Drumcode’s 150th release in 2015 with ‘The Wilford’ EP, featuring the dub techno groover ‘Obsessed’. His last outing on Drumcode was the fantastic ‘Limitless’, a collaboration with Luigi Madonna that featured on A-Sides Vol.6 in 2017.

‘The Walker EP’ is Capuano’s most full-bodied work on Drumcode to date. The title track is a stealth combination of punishing drums and dystopian arpeggios building up a dark brew of energy. ‘Segment’ is a flamboyant follower, all six minutes of spine-tingling synth stabs and chopped up vocal effects perfect for peak time moments. ‘On Your Skin’ is no less captivating, a huge Beyer favourite throughout the summer months, its exhilarating combination of rousing vocal, swirling synths and catchy riff make it a slam dunk. The slick ‘Sirio’ concludes the quadruplet of cuts, as stomping grooves rub shoulders with multi-layered melody lines for a satisfying finish.
