The second release in our Anniversary Remixes campaign sees one of our most iconic tracks, ‘Downpipe’, reinterpreted by the world’s No.1 DJ Armin van Buuren, Techno veteran Adrian Hour and new kid on the block Bontan.

‘Downpipe’, the collaboration between our label leader, Mark Knight, master of production, D.Ramirez, and legends of dance music, Underworld, is a landmark track in the history of Toolroom Records. Crowned Essential New Tune on Radio 1 by Pete Tong and forming an integral part of the soundtrack to the opening ceremony of the London Olympics last year, it is still receiving overwhelming support today.

Heading up The Anniversary Remixes of ‘Downpipe’, superstar DJ Armin van Buuren delivers up a euphoric, unstoppable, big room remix that is set to take to the throne & join the original. 
Adrian Hour presents a techno workout that is completely relentless, energetic from the off the intensity doesn’t let up resulting in a peak time gem for the underground. Finishing up the package is UK wonder kid Bontan, following his recent Top Ten he continues his reign delivering a stripped back bass line workout with Karl Hyde’s vocals cleverly chopped into the groove.

A tech house anthem and one of the scene’s most unforgettable tracks, The Anniversary Remixes sees ‘Downpipe’ transformed across three musical landscapes with unstoppable results.

Souvenirplus hits the year running with an extended EP from Italian housemeister Francys.

First up, ‘Trust’ is a mid-tempo mood piece, chunky chords bliss the melody out, while a panoply of percussive effects call out, like the varied sounds of a night time jungle as described by synth. Running through the sylvan scene, like a burbling stream is an ethereal voice beckoning one into various euphoric crescendos. ‘Silver’ is a slow burner, tight drum patterns and reversed vocal samples driving it forward. The dubbed out bassline gives the track a spaced out ambient feel, bringing to mind FSOL’s classic ‘Papua New Guinea’. Next up, shuffling beat and gurgling bleeps create a retro-futuristic feel, with ominous arpeggios ratcheting up the tension on ‘Solitude’. Rounding things off, ‘Water Woman’ spurts to attention, with some lovely keys, shimmering synth washes and brushed snare work. The track builds in to a barely sung vocal, adding to the Balearic Beat feel, one to watch the sun rise to maybe?

Continuously forging his own path, irrespective of any hype and what the scene is asking for, and doing everything with a passion and the will to reach his goals has made Alex Niggemann the personality he is today. Alex grew to be an established and successful DJ & producer, wanting to release music purely for lovers, for people who cut their own path, who dance just the way they feel, celebrating and being passionate about what they do without following rules and trends; the things which characterized the “rave culture” of the 90ies.

The debut release, ‘Just A Little’ sees Niggemann explore a chunky tech house aesthetic, precise analogue drum programming and gnarly melodies. Narrated by a late night House mantra and punctuated by full bodied synth work, ‘Just A Little’ is destined for the more discerning floors.

Bolstering the original are two well executed remixes from fellow scene stalwarts, Glimpse and Steve Bug. Poker Flat boss Bug’s mix adds a metallic shine and sleazy edge to proceedings, whilst Glimpse employs his trademark heavy set, stripped back grooves, coated in layers of gritty atmosphere and off-kilter processing.

A strong release that forms the foundations of what is set to become the go-to label for authentic House and Techno, Alex Niggemann showcases his production prowess alongside his A&R nous.

Fuse London sub-label, Infuse, returns this June with Infuse002 featuring tracks from Houmz, Mariano Mateljan, Pat Ondebaak, Steve Abot and a remix from residents Enzo Siragusa & Seb Zito.The Infuse imprint was launched in March of 2013, as a platform for affiliates of the Fuse London crew to release their works. The various artist package Infuse001 launched the label, with records from Jun Akimoto and Steve Abot, Samu.l and Pat Ondebaak who return again for the 002 single.The release kicks off with Houmz Clorophilia, a low-slung percussive workout that steadily builds in a purely drum and bass driven state for several minutes, before dreamy pad melodies and bubbling, glitchy electronics push the record into an ethereal, moody vibe. Up next is Mountain from Pat Ondebaak, again relying on a stripped-back feel with its jazz infused organic percussion, while warbling sax licks and gospel style vocals drive the musicality.Seb and Enzo offer up a remix of Samu.l's The Traveller found on the preceding release next, the duo implant their signature shuffled drums on the original and extract snippets of the originals tonal and synthesized elements, reworking them into their own style and creating an understated, classy interpretation. Steve Abot and Mariano Mateljan close the release, Abot turns in High Moon while Mateljan offers up Deux Jours both cuts take a slightly different approach to the previous tracks, veering into dub-techno territory with an airy feel, raw, loose drums, a profound low-end depth and cavernous atmospherics.This is yet another outstanding package from Fuse full of intriguing intricate records, Infuse002 is out mid June 2013.
