Default Position is a London/Berlin-based record label founded by Joseph S Joyce which specialises in emotive forms of electronic music. The label gets its name from a term that is widely used in psychology, referring to a person's natural tendency or reaction to something or someone. A person's default position is often based on deeply embedded core beliefs about themselves or the world around them, often originating from childhood. Many of us will have to challenge our default positions in life, especially if we've developed negative ones. In terms of creativity, however, we believe that the default position serves something of great value. We believe it represents an artist's fundamental frequency, a place of creative authenticity, devoid of external influences or material motive. When an artist's output comes from their default position they express their truth. Our aim is to help them deliver their message.

Born in ’96 and raised in Paraguay , Thomas discovered his passion for electronic music in 2013, after starting to attend to underground parties in Asuncion - Paraguay. Inspired by artists like Giuliano Lomonte, Mihai Pol, Ion Ludwig, East End Dubs, Petre Inspirescu, Raresh, Priku, G76, Janeret, Takashi Himeoka, Arapu, Barac, Vincentiulian, Silat Beksi, Joey Jackson l, Distilled Noise, and SIT ( Cristi Cons and Vlad Caia ) to name a few, he started playing music in 2018 and got better with every set while creating interesting and various vibes. He likes to engage his audience by having mixes with a storytelling nature, strong and groovy basslines, crispy claps and an intricate background sound that controls the mood he wants to pursue,  always accompanying melodic vocals according to the occasion.

He played music most of the time in private parties in different cities of Paraguay and also in some editions of the Baracoa musical cycle where he is also a staff.
