MAC-V makes his debut for Rotation Audio Friday 09/08/24 with two mid summer heaters. From Amsterdam with love, this liquid jungle style two track release is sure to get you hooked for the duration.

Carbonated is a beautiful two track EP from Rafael, combining melodic synth lines, crisp drum rolls and tight low ends. Don’t be miss led by the bright album art, though both tracks hold high levels of clarity, MAC Vs dark warfare persona is expressed through his production in both tracks. Especially dark days. Remember the light is never far.

Carbonated starts floaty like them fresh bubbles in your tipple. Mesmerising hi hats introduce solid half time percussion and spacey atmospherics throughout give structure to the ambient textures slowly drifting in and out of the composition. A true listen, joyful to the ears, get lost in the music, and if you’re not somewhere you want to be, let the track take you to where you are.

Dark Days just hits a bit harder, the prominent processed synth riff gets you hooked from the outset, drum rolls take you into the mix where sub laced jungle infused basslines cushion the amen percussion. Brought together beautifully, the whole track feeling like a battle between all elements of the production.

Default Position is a London/Berlin-based record label founded by Joseph S Joyce which specialises in emotive forms of electronic music. The label gets its name from a term that is widely used in psychology, referring to a person's natural tendency or reaction to something or someone. A person's default position is often based on deeply embedded core beliefs about themselves or the world around them, often originating from childhood. Many of us will have to challenge our default positions in life, especially if we've developed negative ones. In terms of creativity, however, we believe that the default position serves something of great value. We believe it represents an artist's fundamental frequency, a place of creative authenticity, devoid of external influences or material motive. When an artist's output comes from their default position they express their truth. Our aim is to help them deliver their message.
