Form and Function presents a compilation of 4 dancefloors orientated tracks by some of the label's favorite producers. It marks the second episode of a new chapter where the label will focus on two styles. The Form series will have a diverse sound palette where the weird and beautiful come together. The Function series, on the other hand, have a focus on dancefloor orientated tracks.

Border One's 'Cenote' is a funky groover that resonates well in any DJ set. A bell-like synth lurks you in and never let's go throughout the entire track.

.defaultbox is celebrating its catalogue no. 010 with a various artists EP full of love and dark energy. The label founder Patrick Brosin himself opens up with "1999", a raw and reckless tribute to all those late nineties' fashion sinners, while Robert S (PT) takes it back to the future with his brain melting, bulletproof remix. Next up is label co-owner Barrel with "Lirpa", a rollercoaster ride inside an acid fish tank, spiced up by Kegen Hall with a little "Pepper" to wake up lazy ravers.

Throughout his career, Roger Semsroth has followed a deep intuition for experimentation in sound, wrapping club music around eerie microtonal motifs and industrial sensibilities. This new work for Tresor takes a step forward, as the first true techno album from Sleeparchive, where his previous LPs have exhibited themselves more conceptually, or under different names and his Nord Vest label.

Semsroth has been active in electronic music since the late 90s. He received initial attention first for his electro productions under the alias Skanfrom and the 80s minimal synth inspired Television Set. These projects echoed his love for these sounds, which the East Berliner had steadily immersed himself with after the end of the GDR. Upon hearing the bleeps of Mika Vainio and Plastikman, he began to engage with his strain of techno. Over the last decade, he has focused on his Sleeparchive alias, which dates back to 2004. Alongside close friend DJ Pete, he performs live techno as TR-101. His relationship with Tresor began in 2011, first releasing the Ronan Point EP and following up with the crucial A Man Dies In The Street series in 2013.

With this new album, Sleeparchive's impact on the techno sound is ever more relevant. Awaking in constant locomotion, locked-in, unrelenting and dry. Sleeparchive’s churning loops etch visions of tight minimalism at times densely frenetic and others serenely galactic. This predilection continues throughout the four sides on the album, eschewing conventional arrangement styles with gradual probabilistic change. Tracks such as 'Needle' and 'Peccant' offer up precise, sinewy techno. 'Leave' recalls the Detroit sound of Terrence Dixon, with its cascading synth tones and droning atmospheres. The album closes with a different version of 'Trust' to that found on last year’s Revised Recordings EP released on Tresor, with its now-familiar nerve-inducing pizzicato strings even more at the fore with its mechanic delivery.

MHz presents the second VA release, "Planet MHz II", featuring 14 talented producers from all over the world.

Here, @soptikorg label boss Willy Parker showcases the depth of his techno sound. The young artist Willy Parker was born in the hessian city Giessen, near Frankfurt / Main. Influenced by 90s Hip Hop and Trance beats during his teenager time he has also been attracted by the Frankfurt techno scene. His love for drone, ethereal and dark-driving sounds raised rapidly and soon he started to produce his own beats. His joy in experimenting is just as big, which is why the genres Ambient and Experimental did not remain undiscovered for long. 

Next to his job as a graphic designer, Willy and his partner created the art and music label SOPTIK. The focus of the ambitious and striving label is the connection between different artists and their craftsmanship and to unite and present them as an overall project.
