Outstanding - this takes me back so much - I was in the Navy at the time, based in Somerset (we were all at it, pills clubbing etc) and someone pulled this tape out at a barracks party - this is what got me into DJ'ing and music production really, although I took a different  road and went acid/goa/psy.  Still, this is an excellent reminder - thanks!

I have joined 39 minutes from the 'Previously Unreleased' that had the end missing, with the end of the original version 27 minutes version  that had the start missing. Now a total of 48.34.

this is part 11 in a series of mixes called 'trust me i was there' - the tracks that were big in the clubs i was going to and the london pirates i was listening to at the time.

in 91 the music was morphing from the previous housier/US sound to a more UK vibe, with baselines and breakbeats shaping the sound. as a punter/dj back then, I had really liked the earlier music in these mixes, but from this point I felt like i was part of a scene that was largely people like me, in areas like where i lived - i was well and truly hooked!

Paper Recordings are currently riding high in the album charts with their Paper Cuts #1 compilation, a collection of their finest moments from the last five years or so. As some of you may know I provided the sleeve notes for the CD version of Paper Cut's and in support of the release I thought it would be cool to go through my Paper collection and dig out a selection of my personal favourites from the first 10 years of the label (1993 - 2003).
