Def Crank ist gebürtiger Vietnamese und beweist regelmäßig, dass musikalisches Feingefühl in ihm steckt. Schon von klein auf zeigte sich er besonders an wilden Mixen  zwischen den unterschiedlichen Genres interessiert. Seinen Leitfaden - „Keiner fragt mich ob ich leben will, also soll mir auch keiner sagen wie ich zu leben habe.“ - überträgt er 1:1 auf die Musik. Er macht die Mixe, wie sie ihm gefallen, inspiriert von seinen Lieblingskünstlern LL Cool J, August Alsina, Montell Jordan, Jonn Hart oder auch Hardwell, Fedde Le Grand und Axwell. 
Ein Erfolgsrezept? Ja.  DefCrank hat es mit seinem Talent schon in die besten Clubs Norddeutschlands geschafft: Er hinterließ im NFF Club (Bremen) und im Phoenix Club (Hannover), dem ehemaligen SFERA Grand Club (Melleund auf dem Festival „Glamotion 2012“ (Dortmund) einen bleibenden Eindruck - sowie garantierten Muskelkater in den Tanzbeinen. Es sind aber nicht nur die gekonnten Übergänge und das gute Händchen für Gute-Laune-Platten, die bei Gästen und Partymachern gleichermaßen im Gedächtnis bleiben. Def Crank ist auch bekannt für sein ansteckendes Lachen. Er hat sichtlich Spaß an der Arbeit, findet Freude am Begeistern der tanzenden Menschenmengen und zeigt das auch.

Derweil erweist der Lokalpatriot seinem Wohnort alle Ehre: In der LUG Lounge (Nienburg) tritt er als Resident DJ und Eventmanager auf. Auch seine eigene Partyreihe, die „NewGen’s Clubnight“ hat er hier ins Leben gerufen. Darüber hinaus kreiert Def Crank nebenbei heiße Online-Mixtapes für die daheimgebliebenen Partymuffel oder nimmersatten Tänzer. Und was als nächstes kommt? „Lasst euch überraschen“, grinst er.
