Defected heavyweight Low Steppa returns alongside rising house name Capri with ‘Got The Funk’. No stranger to the London label, the DJ and producer from Brum has been a firm favourite at Defected shows worldwide for many years, from its flagship festivals to major club nights alike. His releases across the Defected family of labels have also seen major club play, from ‘This Is The Sound’ on DFTD to ‘Bullerengue’ with Crusy on Defected. For his latest label outing, Low Steppa collaborates with Capri, an artist whose tracks have been supported by Mark Knight, Sam Divine, Darius Syrossian and Dombresky, with more releases on tastemaker labels scheduled for 2025. Capri captured Low Steppa’s attention with a remix of his track ‘The Feeling’ on the influential producer’s Simma Black imprint, and now the two deliver ‘Got The Funk’, a seriously hypnotic belter set to do major club damage - already supported by the likes of Barry Can’t Swim, Eats Everything and Danny Howard.

Long-time friend of Defected Ferreck Dawn returns with ‘Make Me Weak’, featuring vocals from Caroline Byrne. A Dutch powerhouse who in 2024 played for the London label at Wembley’s OVO Arena, the summer season at Ushuaïa Ibiza, its flagship festival in Croatia and world tour stop in Toulouse, Ferreck continues to rep Defected on an international level - now preparing for the label’s season at Pacha Ibiza. His busy touring schedule was matched by his Defected output, working with Maverick Sabre, New Machine, GUZ, MEDUZA and Clementine Douglas on a string of tracks last year. Returning to the label in 2025, Ferreck collaborates with Caroline Byrne, a prolific dance music singer / songwriter who has previously featured on tracks with Gorgon City, Tudor, and TSHA. ‘Make Me Weak’ is a groovier, more synth-laden outing for Ferreck, spotlighting Caroline’s airy topline layered in harmony, creating a vocaloid-like effect that aligns perfectly with Ferreck’s signature, hard-hitting production.

Over the last year Crusy has undoubtably hit another sweet spot with his recent collaborations garnering widespread DJ support. Love Attacks founder Alan Dixon joins UK house duo mOat and multi-instrumentalist Tom Diesel on DFTD with ‘Underground’. Coming in hot from his rework of Infinity Ink’s ‘Infinity’ on sister-label Glitterbox, nightlife authority Alan Dixon now collaborates with rising artists of the electronic scene. The UK pairing of producers Tom Staar and Chris Spero, mOat have found a home on Armin Van Buuren’s imprint Armada, recently releasing ‘Heat’ with Tensnake. Previously collaborating with Alan Dixon for ‘Infados’ on Love Attacks Records, mOat have also worked with the hybrid producer and live performer Tom Diesel for ‘Pizza Cat’. Now uniting as one on DFTD, the four electronic artists present ‘Underground’; pulsating synth patterns underpin bright piano accents, with Afro electronic-inspired percussion decorating this deep and brooding club track.

A certified Defected classic, ‘Bad Habit’ by ATFC featuring Lisa Millett is remixed by Clüb De Combat. Originally released in 2000, ‘Bad Habit’ quickly became one of the label’s signature tracks, leading to a slew of re-releases and remixes - most notably from Armin Van Buuren in the same year. Joining the impressive list of remixers is a duo marked as ones to watch for 2025; Clüb De Combat’s warehouse-filling sound has earned them a slew of supporters, including industry titans like Solomun, Peggy Gou, Chloe Caillet, Chris Lake and Mau P. With two EPs under their belt and several releases on tastemaker imprints, Clüb De Combat’s remix of ‘Bad Habit’ on Defected continues to showcase the duo’s blend of hard-hitting electronic genres - making for a powerful chapter in the record’s long-running story.
