One of house’s most sought-after selectors, the prolific Darius Syrossian returns to Defected alongside US vocalist Jena for ‘E-Soul’. Growing up in the UK, the revered DJ and producer made a name for himself playing the country's most respected clubs, and in recent years his blossoming relationship with UK label Defected has been characterised by modern releases like ‘White Rabbit’, ‘Come On Come On’ and the omnipresent club cut ‘Back In The Dance’ on DFTD. Today, the acclaimed Moxy Muzik label boss shows no signs of stopping as he collaborates with Metatone-signed singer and songwriter Jena, whose previous Defected release ‘Better’ saw her collaborate with Ferreck Dawn. As Darius’s signature, expert production gives ‘E-Soul’ serious heat, Jena’s infectious top line soars above with ease. Speaking of the lyrics, Jena says: “It’s really about the support system of my partner - a true ride or die… E-Soul, to me, stands for ‘Electric Soul’, and that is exactly what my ride or die makes me feel like.”

After teaming up with Jamie Jones to release ‘Rushing’ earlier this summer, Darius Syrossian returns to Defected for his latest musical output. ‘Come On Come On’ sees the DO NOT SLEEP resident flex his musical muscles by exploring a range of influences throughout, engineering the same soulful vocal sample to provide two genre-defying cuts. Opening with ‘Kouka’, a track that rumbles through with its intensified bass and tension building drops set to rock the most intense of sound-systems, while the vocal interlude at its centre adds diversity and intrigue. This is followed with the title track, where Darius delivers a dose of upbeat driving house, with a rubbery bouncing bassline and a chopped-up version of the vocal, delivering serious end-of-summer vibes. By exploring a number of avenues of sound with the same sample, ‘Come On Come On’ shows Darius’ breadth of musical knowledge, with a release that will keep a crowd on their toes.

Originally on promo in 2005, ‘Amsterdam’ united talented producer and orchestral arranger Arksun with one of the of the most recognisable voices in the Anjuna archives Ashley Tomberlin, for a tale of long distance love.
When Above & Beyond brought their Group Therapy radio show to the Dutch capital in 2016, a series of new reworks were commissioned, with Grum’s rework receiving its first spin at the show.

ATFC is a longstanding label favourite and household name in the scene. He’s entered Pete Tong’s Essential Mix hall of fame - and the BBC Radio 1 tastemaker himself described ATFC’s productions as ‘verging on genius’.
