The Italian born House music maestro is on fine form as always here, hot on the heels of his ‘Love Desire’ record that went stratospheric in late 2023 on Claptone’s ‘Golden Recordings’ label. The track hit the #1 spot on Beatport and was in the top 3 tracks played in 2023 on 1001tracklists.

CASSIMM was also recently crowned the #1 House producer in Beatport’s end of year awards, an accolade to be proud of for sure! To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Defected Records presents a series of extra special collaborative releases: Together, integrating talent from the label’s storied past and the stars of its future. On the latest release, Riva Starr joins forces with Hilit Kolet for ‘Twerq It’ featuring NEZ. No stranger to the Defected family, Riva Starr’s relationship with the label continues to blossom, following standout releases like ‘Love Divine’ and his celebrated Defected House Masters collection– not to mention standout performances at Defected’s flagship festival in Croatia and their Ibiza residency at Ushuaïa. 

Fast-rising London DJ and producer Hilit Kolet also has a history with the label, with Defected releasing her debut single ‘Techno Disco’ and its follow-up release ‘POV Siren’ on Faith marking her as a serious name to watch, before this year’s trio of singles ‘Hot Mess’, ‘Everything Is Amazing’ and ‘Snap Talk’ cemented her reputation as the producer behind the bleeding edge of 2024’s fiercest beats. Joining the two mercurial producers on vocal duty is Chicago artist NEZ, a house music maverick whose distinct flow has featured on collaborations with Moodymann, Eats Everything and HoneyLuv. This Maltese tech house maestro really has seen his career go from strength to strength in a huge way over the past 18 months. Collaborations with Low Steppa, Tony Romera, Matt Sassari and James Hurr are all confirmed and he has recently been hitting the decks across Australia, Asia, Canada, Ibiza and beyond. He is slowly carving out a real ‘sound’ within the scene, in a time when breaking through the noise is incredibly difficult, this is to the credit of his elite level production prowess and flawless DJ skills!

This track certainly fits into that ‘club banger’ category. Big drums, a seriously funky bassline and some tongue-in-cheek lyrics to raise a smile on those dance floors. This one comes with early and heavy support from Dombresky and Mark Knight!
