US house music vocalist and dj Roland Clark unveils his next offering on Milk & Sugar Recordings, a huge collaborative single with Pacha Austria’s resident Marvin Aloys and UK based PvssyCat, entitled ‚Spiritual Thing‘.

„Back in the days everyone said my music was weird - All the young guys were deejaying electro and described my style as girly or whatever - It was hard for me to get booked at the beginning but I always had that love for soulful and real house music and for the roots of this genre. Luckily we are discovering a revival now and real house music is back everywhere“ said 27 year old house Music Producer and Deejay Marvin Aloys.

The release is spiced up with a remix from french house maestro Sebb Junior.

The first ever release under their Selace pseudonym, the record comes laden with lingering organ chords and stunningly raw vocals, echoing the stripped back quality of Switch’s ‘I Still Love You’ and with a similar deep-reaching feel to Massive Attack’s early 90s classic ‘Unfinished Sympathy’. Production maestro Mousse T. works his magic with his funk-drenched Disco Shizzle mix loaded with a pumping bassline and guitar riffs alongside a deeper Dubby Shizzle version laced with a spoken word hook. An esteemed selector Danny’s prolific remixing and production capabilities have touched hundreds of records – with his signature flare shaping the New York City sound. Opening the two-track release is Danny edit this summer’s seminal track The Vision’s ‘Heaven’, interweaving a gloriously groovy bassline with Andreya Triana’s vocal to produce an extended, DJ friendly mix that he sent crowds wild with at Dekmental Festival. Up next, Mr K delves a little deeper into the Defected catalogue, trying his hand at The DangerFeel Newbies’ ‘What Am I Here For (Original NDATL Vocal)’. Danny’s stripped back version extends the jazzy, percussive original, as velvety smooth vocals and elegant keys bring this expressive and sophisticated release to a close.

In times of trouble and uncertainty music can provide relief for the soul, and DAVIE’s triumphant Defected debut ‘Testify’ does exactly that.
