From London to Ibiza via Berlin, inspired by Chigago and Detroit, Ceri finds her truth in proper house music. ‘Can’t Pay My Bills’ EP provides a message of hope during uncertain times. Acknowledged as a “rising selector” by Crack Magazine, producer, label boss and record digger Ceri steps into 2024 with a brand-new EP ‘Can’t Pay My Bills” via her imprint “Find Your Own Records”. “The title track is inspired by the current economic situation in the world, and also features a positive message that reflects the values and true origins of house music, reinforcing the belief that we can overcome our circumstances and improve our situation” - Ceri The new four track EP drips with Chicago, New York and Detroit jackin’ house with garage influence, and a sprinkle of ripping UK breakbeat for good measure. 

The people’s producer D'Julz steps up, on remix duties, contributing not one but two remixes to the label’s ongoing message of artist authenticity and collaboration. The remixes will be vinyl only, and the originals will see a digital release later in the year. “I have collected D'Julz music for many years, his label started around the same time I started DJing, and it was and still is, one of the few labels that I buy on sight. I know it will always be quality. Something I aspire to do with my label too.”– Ceri. 

As an artist led label 'Find Your Own Records’ has become a home for genuine house legends Mr G, Fred P, Alex Arnout, and has rightly gained support from Mixmag, Resident Advisor, BBC Radio 1, BB6Music and BBC1Xtra. Support for the label so far comes from the likes of: Midland, Ben UFO, Move D, K-HAND, Fumiya Tanaka, Fred P, Paranoid London, Steve O'Sullivan, Tristan Da Cunha, Ryan Elliot, Lakuti, DJ Deep, Kerri Chandler, Chloe Caillet, Fred P, Jeremy Underground, Cici, D’Julz, Chez Damier and more… As a DJ Ceri has performed marathon sets at Fabric, Corsica Studios, Pikes Ibiza, Thisishaven, and recently made her debut at the legendary Panorama Bar/Berghain. Defected is proud to revisit the legendary Todd Edwards catalogue with the fourth instalment of his House Masters Remixes, adding Majestic, Harry Romero, Soul Clap and Jay Robinson to the impeccable collection of house and garage artistry. Released in 2021, Todd’s original compilation demonstrated his approach to experimentation in its full glory; his entirely new sound, born from chopped up samples and vocal clips, helped birth the UK Garage genre while giving the American-born producer major underground credibility. Ever since those pioneering releases in the 90s, Todd has continued to inspire artists around the world, artists like Alex Mills whose glossy vocals feature on the new release spearheading the collection, ‘Wishing I Were Home’. This unreleased original shows Todd’s signature skippy style in full-flow, also receiving a remix from Platinum-selling producer Majestic, whose old skool influences blend with bassline-heavy house for an uplifting take on the new classic. Next up, fellow Defected House Master Harry Romero adds a New Jersey bounce to Todd’s vocoder-heavy ‘I Might Be’, before experimental production duo Soul Clap deliver two club remixes of ‘Winter Behavior’. DJ and producer Jay Robinson’s synth-laden version of ‘Can’t You Believe?’ closes out this bold collection of house and garage mainstays.

The producer and vocalist team of Sam Divine and Josh Barry return to Defected once more with ‘Saved By The Record’. The collaboration follows 2023’s ‘Take My Hand’ which saw the pair quickly establish a rewarding working relationship and friendship, resulting in a dancefloor-ready track with striking vocals that dominated the summer and saw major radio play across BBC Radio 1, KISS FM, and Sirius XM in the US. Kicking off 2024 with a bang, Sam Divine has collaborated with Hannah Wants and Jem Cooke on Defected’s Together series, released a compilation aligning with their inclusive Miami Music Week 2024 takeover, and is now celebrating 9 years of her own imprint DVINE Sounds as she prepares for a busy 2024 touring schedule that includes Ushuaïa Ibiza, a headline Australian / New Zealand tour, and Glastonbury Festival. Now the acclaimed DJ and Defected radio host returns with the second of five singles on Defected planned for 2024, ‘Saved By The Record’, alongside the talented vocalist Josh Barry, an artist who has previously appeared on records by Nile Rodgers and Gorgon City. The song’s lyrics take inspiration from some of the most famous house and electronic records; Josh’s powerful vocals deftly weave over Sam’s precise and bassy production style, creating a personal and infectious house record to prepare us for the summer season.
