Continuing the theme of community collaboration sparked by Hodge and Simo Cell’s recent 12”, Livity Sound presents the first joint works by Azu Tiwaline and Al Wootton. While they come from distinct settings (Azu in the Tunisian desert, Al in London’s urban sprawl), their music shares a similar affinity for intricate percussion and dub-informed space.
The four tracks on LIVITY052 deal in a variety of rhythms and tempos, veering from the propulsive intensity of ‘Blue Dub’ to the sparse, skipping 2-step framework of ‘Light Transmission’. Azu and Al’s refined, detailed approach blurs the lines between electronic sound design and earthy sonics, resulting in dynamic drum tracks loaded with weighty atmospherics and unrelenting tension.

Glasgow's LWS has been catching the ear of tastemakers since he started making his percussive and drum-heavy bass cuts. The up-and-coming producer has already made pitstops at labels like Tdsr, Eyeangle Records and MELD, as well as launching his own Matrice Recordings which started life at the beginning of this year. Now he keeps it local again with a debut on Redstone Press, a label who have been making similar waves to the young producer. Hot on the heels of their fourth release with Henry Greenleaf, they draft in LWS for his Aerosol EP, a collection of leftfield bass tracks that range from high energy workouts to wonky chugging grooves. The first release on the newly established @Greyhound-days imprint comes from Christian Kroupa alias Alleged Witches, hailing from Slovenia, who proved his skills and innovation as a participant at the Red Bull Music Academy in 2014.

Since then he became one of the most prominent names of Slovenia's techno and house scene, with making appearance on the mighty Fabric mix compilation, producing a remix of Alex Smoke for legendary Belgian label R&S, while also releasing a 12” entitled Serve The Spirits on R&S sub-label Meda Fury.

»One Skilled In The Black Arts« EP consists of four tracks, meant for dictating the dance floor with their drum workout, as well as luring you into its deep ritualistic feel, with distant native tongues echo.

For an extra wonderful hypnotic polyrhytms, a rework has been provided by @marcopassarani, one of the Italian leading dance music producers and DJs, who continues to be an inspiration and providing his knowledge and skills to younger generations. While Bristol based Jacob Martin alias @HodgeBristol demonstrated his expertise in percussion, resulting in an slamming rework, not meant for the faint-hearted. Just shows, why Hodge is one of Bristol's most exciting new names.

Danny Daze returns to his own Omnidisc imprint for the Propaganda & Manipulation EP. Following the pounding electro of 2019’s Pulmotor EP with DeFeKT and a solo EP of malfunctioning techno for Moustache Records, the Miami don returns with four rough, gritty and grounded tracks, two of which feature Brazillian producer and Omnidisc affiliate RHR.

Danny has been collaborating with RHR since 2015 when he first received his demos from the São Paulo favelas. Since then Danny has taken RHR under his wing, featuring the talented producer on Omnidisc showcases and releasing the collaborative Ginga EP in 2016 plus RHR’s solo debut 12” last year on Omnidisc. RHR is once again back on Omnidisc, assisting Danny with some of his most explorative productions yet.
Tough, hip-hop infected ‘Planet’, which closes out the EP with crunchy 808 kicks and a powerfully throbbing low end.
