Detroit native Young Muscle brings his first full EP to Scuffed Recordings, exploring an array of heavy hitting electronic influences over three new tracks.

Looting is Andrew Bourcet, a Canadian producer, DJ and curator formerly known as Calmpound. 

Album 'Chest Pains' is an attempt to close the gap between Andrew's beginnings in music as a guitar player and songwriter in the late 90's - early 00’s and his current work in experimental club music by taking piano, guitar and keyboard improvisations and letting them swim together with elements from his biggest musical influences - jungle, ambient, OST, post-dubstep and sinogrime. 
The title 'Chest Pains' is also a reference to the weaponization of sound in the context of crowd control, mind control and social manipulation as well as a reference to the sonic soft war with the modern military-industrial-entertainment-complex that modern revolutionaries and counter cultural artists are engaged with.

Out on May 23rd.

His EP on Gimme A Break Records broadens the Aberdeen-based producer’s repertoire further by exploring the recently revived UK Garage/Breaks crossover with Obatalla.

mod-r - Carnegie's Brae EP (Clips)

West Coast mainstays @dannygoliger and @justin-jay bring a slamming, club-ready collaborative release to Scuffed Recordings on the ‘Sticky Rice’ EP.

Danny and Justin have been releasing music together since 2020, when the two teamed up for a track on their own Fantastic Voyage imprint. Since then, the Los Angeles based artists have collaborated on tracks on Dirtybird and Childsplay, marking them out as a team to be reckoned with.

Alongside their collabs, Danny has appeared as a solo artist on labels like clip.art, art|werk and Moving Castle, while Justin has had a storied career appearing on labels as varied as Time Is Now, Suara, and Pets Recordings along with being a longtime member of the Dirtybird camp.

Now the two join forces on Scuffed Recordings, with a release including two collabs and a solo track from each artist.

From the outset, the duo wears their UK influences on their sleeves, taking in breakbeat grooves, rolling bass, and upfront percussion. Over the course of the two collabs and two solo tracks, Danny and Justin gleefully tear through an array of genres and influences – whether that’s electro, techno, UK garage, breaks, or IDM, they bounce off each other effortlessly to form a concise and impactful club EP.

Danny Goliger & Justin Jay - Sticky Rice EP (Previews)

Basilica’s fourth submission comes courtesy of one it’s earliest roster holders, the newest sculptor of the both historic and ever changing ‘Bristol Bass’ sound - Kahter.

Kahters sound has always been a juxtaposition between spacious subtlety combined and contrasted with huge drum presence and swollen bass. Making his early debuts on labels such as Glome Sound, Manuka, Circular Jaw and, most recently, his enormous Swamp 81 debut release, Kahter has consistently released club based beats that cut through a mix with laser precision. 

The Polaris EP explores the heavier hitting side of Kahters production, with huge and heavy impacting basses and kicks, a barrage of razor sharp hats and lasers brought together under a rolling bop of distant and textured ambiences and pads.

Compliments is a non-binary dance music producer from Huddersfield, based in London. Their work is heavily influenced by the percussive UK styles of jungle, garage and bassline, with a pinch of nü-metal’s distortion and adolescent energy thrown in for good measure.

Tomgirl, their newest release on Mantissa, showcases these stylistic influences across four tracks that move between wonky 4/4 techno, amen-heavy jungle, spacey 140 and swampy chugging house, playing with the idea of floating somewhere between masculinity and femininity, hard and soft.

After experimenting with samples of their own voice on their debut album ‘The place where my voice should be’ (self-released in March 2022), the EP builds on this technique to create eerie atmospherics and strange rhythms in a more club-focused and dance floor orientated zone.

Tomgirl is topped off with a remix by Bristol’s Bex, channeling a potent strain of bassy, stepping techno that her productions and DJ sets have become famous for.

@naco returns to Scuffed Recordings with a masterclass in mind-bending breaks and percussion.

The Kyoto-based producer first released with Scuffed in 2018 with his 2026 EP, which picked up support from the likes of Skream, HAAi, and Kettama among others.

With a slew of releases on his own 85acid imprint, Naco has established a sound that draws extensively from the club music spectrum - breaks, techno, house, jungle - but with a warped approach that sets his releases out from the crowd.

Now returning with his 'Noian' EP, Naco brings three new high-energy tracks to Scuffed - each of them deceptively simple in their approach but striking in their effect.
