Club Glow continues to exist as one of the most exciting labels in the underground dance landscape. The imprint releasing nostalgic rave goodness is run by Denham Audio, LMajor, Mani Festo and Borai, and the latter is now making his debut on the label with ‘Need U‘. Responsible alongside Denham Audio for the absolute heater that is ‘Make Me’, Bristol-based Borai teamed up with the trio again for another dancefloor-charged release, ‘Clouds Across The Stars‘. A four-tracker volleying between breakbeat, jungle and 140, ‘Need U’ has been a fixture on the label’s Club Glow Radio show for some time now. The EP is the second in Club Glow’s vinyl series, following Mani Festo’s heatedly-received ‘All Night‘, and is strictly limited to 300 copies. ‘Step Off’, which we’re premiering below, drives things forward with a killer vocal sample, swinging hi hats and some breaky goodness.

‘That Sort of Thing’ is a high-energy, breakbeat-driven cut from The Rabbit Hole EP, a collaborative outing between Rhodri Price and French producer Little by Little, out 2nd May on Seafront Recordings. A nod to the golden era of 90s rave, it fuses gritty breaks, nostalgic rave stabs, and a warped bassline that drags you deep into the dancefloor haze. Pure warehouse energy with a modern twist—that sort of thing.

Leeds-based producer Dubrunner (@dubrunneruk) brings his debut release to Scuffed Recordings, with three new tracks firmly rooted in his soundsystem influences.

As a co-founder of Leeds’ notorious Stretchy Dance Supply parties and a staff member at Tribe Records, Dubrunner’s eclectic DJ sets reflect back into his productions, with house, breaks and electronic influences sitting alongside sounds from steppa dub and soundsystem culture.

The ‘Scorpio Season’ EP shows the spectrum of Dubrunner’s influences in full flow, with tracks ranging from the 140bpm stepper ‘Destination Unknown’, to the weighty breaks of the title track, to the wonky electronics and dubby chords of ‘Syntax Error’.

Marking his debut release on Dissident Sound, Zero Day Attack offers a unique perspective into Pro.tone’s style as a producer, showcasing a warped take on UK influences and delivering a fascinating display of rolling grooves and unconventional sounds. 

Pro.tone’s use of vocal samples further adds to the curious nature of the music, shrouded in ambiguity and processed in a way that accelerates the transgression into an eccentric rabbit-hole-esque journey. 

Difficult to place in terms of genre, Zero Day Attack firmly cements Pro.tone’s individuality in an ever-changing realm of bass music in the 130bpm region. Indicative of how style transcends tempo, only one track – Mechanisms sits at 130bpm, highlighting consistent innovation in a scene which whilst based in the UK, stretches far and wide globally.

After the fantastic reception of Equus’ ‘REHD’ EP, seven artists have each selected a track from the release, resulting in five different but wholly dance floor ready remixes. No Nation and Sheba Q are making waves across the London jungle scene and beyond through their dedication to the genre, and this remix truly showcases the versatility of their production skills - taking a breaks heavy track and flipping it to create a euphoric half-time stepper that retains the nature of the original release.

Sheffield breakbeat champions & Club Glow collective members Denham Audio make an appearance on Lobster Theremin with Transcendence.

Club Culture is a heady tribute to UK rave culture, combining classic breaks with a monologue from generations past. Denham Audio speed things up on Retort, fusing their love of breakbeats with a sound palette ubiquitous with acid house. On the flip, patois bars punctuate the bleeps-and-breaks of Run Da Ting, while the vocal layered between Top Boy’s whirling bass and digitally distorted drum programming may be recognisable to some. Closing track Transcendence is an ethereal jungle roller with guest vocals from 7ip7o3, that rings true to its name.
