Venezuelan born, Berlin based producer Manao and forward thinking UK artist Tom Place combine on the collaborative ‘Vorticis’ EP, via La Bonne Musique. The impressive four tracker is rounded off by a remix by experimental club music producer and dj, alys(alys)alys of the title track. 

The idea behind Vorticis came from the concept of fusing elements of classic electro & dubstep. The concept of Vorticis was originally to see how a fusion of dubstep & electro sounds would work in a club environment. As the EP progressed they realised that it was more than just an experiment. They had carved out a new direction and were excited to share it with the world.

PREMIERE: Tom Place & Manao - L.I.T.E

PVLV returns to the label with the release of his second EP, ‘Lights Off’.

Ukraine DJ and producer follows last year’s ‘101A’ EP uses his love for UK club styles and soundsystem culture as a jump-off point for three mutated dancefloor slammers. The hallmarks that have shaped his sound to date are all here; nimble breaks and beefy sub bass plumes underpin glitchy melodies for an effect that’s as light as it is propulsive.

Starting off proceedings on the EP is the title track ‘Killah Tape’ establishes his sonic palette from the outset, with driving, high-energy drum work alongside stretched vocals chops.
Next up is ‘Hoodlum’, which layers breaks and throbbing grooves under an otherworldly, warped vocal for create dark, intense atmospheres.

While third track ‘Cave Walk’ slows the tempo to 107 bpm for a writhing techno-dancehall hybrid with weighty with some off-kilter synths and bass wobbles, it’s a testament to PVLV’s knack for a subtle curveball.

Leeds-based Phasmid has garnered a fierce reputation for unique, hard hitting productions in recent years. An eclectic DJ & producer of breakbeat, electro, and trance amongst a wide range of other sounds, he has become known for his distinctively clean-cut, bass-led signature - both in his own tracks and that of his label Taipan Trax.

His mix for Filth Inc. begins with percussive leftfield bass and breaks, moving into more progressive, trancey sounds in the second half.
