Following 2020’s ‘Mirror Man’ LP on Radio Slave’s Rekids, Detroit pioneer Robert Hood returns to the label with a four-track EP of his trailblazing minimal techno. Leading the release, ‘Chroma Light’ opens with cinematic pads and pounding 4/4 patterns as twisted synthesis modulates throughout for a striking start. Followed by ‘The Majestic (Deeper Edit)’, with rattling percussion and fiercely relentless stabs, Hood shows his intent in creating propulsive, dancefloor focussed cuts across the EP.

On the flip, ‘The Majestic’ takes the B1 spot, expanding on the previous track with wild synths and his signature machine-like drums before ‘Ultrasonic Room’ closes out the release with eerie atmospherics and an underlying hypnotic pulse taking centre stage.

A founding member of Underground Resistance alongside Mad Mike Banks and Jeff Mills, Robert Hood is one of techno’s originators, with his decorated career spanning three decades across labels like Tresor, Peacefrog, Music Man Records, and of course, his own M Plant.

Rekids celebrates 10 years of Radio Slave’s ‘Grindhouse’ with remixes from Len Faki, Slam, Obscure Shape & SHDW, Vatican Shadow, Markus Suckut, Lady Starlight and Special Request. First appearing on a release as part of Radio Slave’s iconic ‘No Sleep’ series, ‘Grindhouse’ spawned multiple remixes from the likes of Dubfire, Danton Eeprom, Terrance Fixmer and Nic Fanciulli to become one of the biggest techno records since its original release. To commemorate this fact, Len Faki has produced two different reinterpretations in the first of four heavyweight remix packages.

“I didn’t plan to go back to Grindhouse. It’s a monster of a record and undoubtedly the biggest release we’ve had on the label, but after 10 years it seems right to revisit the track and also add some new versions from some of my favourite techno producers." – Radio Slave With Danton Eeprom’s vocal resonating throughout, Faki’s first remix features crunchy snares, ominous chords and shuffling effects before piercing synths come into effect in the latter half. Meanwhile, the second version rumbles forward with its undulating bassline, soaring atmospherics and echoing elements to round up two solid productions exemplary of the Figure founder’s seasoned abilities in the studio.

After the initial label launch in 2016, Desroi has been working insistently. Debuting on labels such as Henning Baer's Manhigh or Shifted's Avian, the young artist has worked his name into the scene. This time, Desroi returns to his own imprint with 'Eutheria'. With an unadorned focus on percussive drive and rugged atmosphere all three tracks invite to be played out in a dark but hypnotizing warehouse rave. His ability to shape-shift from experimental sonic explorations right up to pure and straight-forward techno cuts reiterates that Desroi is someone to keep an eye on.

The next EP due for release welcomes Polish star DEAS to the roster who is fresh off the back of EP's on Abstract Division's Dynamic Reflection and legendary Dutch label Planet Rhythm as he continues to make strong impressions with his expertly crafted dance floor weapons.

"Never Again" has stabbing electrified tones and sweeping effects in this intense, thumping techno trip that's a powerful and dynamic combination.

The second track "Desert Ride" uses interesting mechanical hits with a spacey aesthetic to create a vibrant mood throughout before more energy hits home from crashing claps and crafty, cymbal action.

"Ultimatum" is the third original work that kicks off with a darker and pacey vibe. Looming menace and drones appear under the pulsing blasts of acid-tinged stabs.

The last of the vinyl tracks "Phase" has a heavier feel from the outset. Its driving style comes to a hault as the beat drops to allow for the synth lead hook to take prominence and really establish the essence of this peak time offering.

Exclusive to the digital release is an ambient offering "Slow Down Time" that is full of melancholic melodies and deep emotion.
