This is my first release of 2024. 

SHEHNAI KUDURO is an AfroDesi track that blends the hard rhythms of Kuduro with folk melodies from a Shehnai at 130 bpm.

Kuduro, born from the vibrant streets of Luanda, Angola, and now redefined in Lisbon’s underground scene, has always been a genre of explosive energy and cultural resonance.  With SHEHNAI KUDURO, we are infusing the sound with the dramatic and airy tones of the shehnai, a wind instrument often paired with Indian ceremonial music and auspicious occasions. 

Drawing inspiration from the music of Júnior No Beat, I started making this track back in Feb of this year. After months of dancefloor testing and re-mixing, we are finally here.

“Guitarra Riddim” is a high-enrgy club track born from the fusion of Cape Verdean sounds and global club culture. Produced by SANTO and Soulely, two DJ/producers renowned for their remixes played around the world, this single marks a bold step into original music.

Driven by a hypnotic looping guitar and explosive brass lines reminiscent of island carnival processions, the track runs at 160 BPM, designed for pure movement and sweat. Its rhythm blends the percussive patterns of Funaná with the rolling textures of Kawina, creating a groove that is both infectious and deeply rooted in cultural identity.

More than just a banger, “Guitarra Riddim” is a personal artistic statement, merging SANTO’s Cape Verdean rhythmic DNA with the European sonic influences that shaped him. Following a string of viral remixes, this is his first official single: Afro-diasporic, melodic, and built for global dancefloors.
