Hailing from the North-East of the UK, Andy is a man with his fingers in many pies. Since the days of his infamous Bad Passion parties, Andy is best known as the taller half of Not An Animal records, or for his production under Machete Savane with Saul Richards, or more recently, Latrec with Alistair Colling.

Andy has a fine ear for a nugget, and is never one to be pinned to a genre. You're as likely to hear him pull out some obscure soft rock as you are disco or house, this time he's opted for roof raisers, and that's absolutely fine with us.

Carhartt WIP radio brings you the San Francisco label Dark Entries. The record company releases out of print underground electronic, new wave and post punk music from the late 1970s to the 1990s, as well as contemporary acts with a similar style. Founder Josh Cheon was collecting vinyl from the age of 14 and later worked for such NYC based labels as DFA, Matador and Beggars Group. In 2006 he relocated to San Francisco, where he joined the four piece DJ crew Honey Soundsystem, started his own radio show and organized local synth-wave-parties. In 2009, Dark Entries was launched, the name taken from the first 7inch single by the UK goth band Bauhaus. Among its many re-issues are albums of 1980s Greek electronic pop, rare synth-wave as well as the darker side of Italo Disco and early works of disco and Hi-NRG legend Patrick Cowley. Josh Cheon himself describes his mix for Carhartt WIP Radio as "an introduction to the sound of Dark Entries from release 1 to 141.“ Enjoy.

There is no one quite like San Proper. The Dutchman is a rare and real character in a scene that is all too often devoid of genuine personality. It shows in the wild music he makes, the wonderful Red Light Radio shows he hosts and the often weird sets he serves up at clubs and festivals round the world. Releasing most often on Rush Hour but also on Dopeness Galore and Perlon, he can do dark minimal as well as big hearted soul and can lay down a big guitar riff or program an off kilter drum line all with equal élan. 

His Dekmantel podcast finds the Dr. dig deep into his vinyl collection and serve up 23 slabs of soul, funk and afro magic across two hours that feel very personal. Traversing scenes, styles and tempos with flawless mixing and blending, he tells a very colour tale that breaks all the rules of a usual mix yet still makes complete sense. It is the sound of a selector who has open ears and who, ten years since his first release, is as thrilling and unpredictable as ever.

Rosie and Nadia are steadily making waves as they embark upon a musical voyage which is bound to see them travel far. The pair have exceptional taste which is perhaps best showcased via their appearances on Balamii Radio. Together they play an eclectic array of electronic music which spans a magnificently wide breadth - from new wave to post punk, electro to house, synth escapades to abstract techno and so much more. They meander between genres and styles with exceptional style and grace. These two are the real deal. 

We invited them to contribute to our ever growing mix series as they deliver an assortment of music which they describe as a representation of 'dark desires'.

After 7 years, we are happy to still have a wonderful relationship with Benjamin, co-founder and DJ producer of the label, and also one of the best musical talent scouts in the sector. In love with Italy, his latest album AMIATA is a sound homage to the atmospheres that are felt in front of the monumental mountain that is located in the provinces of Grosseto and Siena.

De Kat Memwa is a mix series which aims to cherish talented artists from all over the world who are seeking to promote non-obvious music through thoughtful storytelling! 

De Kat Memwa is curated by Prince of Gosplan (Kirill O.) who is also performing as a DJ under the eponymous name.

De Kat Memwa is a resident of Malmö-based @retreatradio with (non-)ambient show 'Deep Relief' and collaborative experimental dance music show 'Ordealia' w/ @jonteprippz 

In the beginning, in addition, to the mix series De Kat Memwa was extended as DJ's trio with the participation of @andrew-lipa & @andreykalder. All the founding members are disseminated between Sweden, Germany and the USA which makes a collective performance impossible. However, altogether we are involved in the curation and production of 'Deep Relief' show!
