BEATS ANTIQUE, an oakland based group featuring ZOE JAKES, DAVID SATORI, AND SIDECAR TOMMY, which has stumbled down the rabbit hole and emerged anew on the other side. BEATS ANTIQUE forges a curious alliance between middle eastern traditions and potent west coast circus, underground hip hop, breakbeat brass band, downtempo, glitch and dubstep.

Originally from New York, Steve now resides in San Francisco, CA where he works on the Music Genome Project at Pandora Music. Studied Music Composition at Berklee College of Music, Boston. Performs regularly in the S.F. Bay Area in various groups. Primary instrument drums and percussion. Also plays piano and some stringed instruments.

Originally blasted like a rhinoplastic red-nose-job blob out of the volcanic cannon of San Francisco's explosive electro-live hybrid music scene, The Klown — now headquartered in Las Vegas — brings a singular sense of humor, whimsy, and irreverence to bass musics of various kinds, like it or not, with a special menage-a-trois proclivity toward breaks, glitch, global bass, nu funk, and swing hop. Disguised as the premiere third-place DJ, he not-so-wantonly throws everything and anything into the sonic blender of thump, force-feeding humans precarious doses of spring-loaded, snake-in-a-can, glitch-dub-hop-step-swing bass cocktails. Like it! Eat it!

Through his various and sundry exploits, The Klown has shared stages with all manner of yahooze, from 50-cent to Gooferman to Bart & Baker to Vau de Vire Society. His festival credits include Bumbershoot, Burning Man, Download Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival, For The Funk Of It, Lightning In A Bottle, Love Fest, Super Bowl XLII, Symbiosis, Vegoose, The Edwardian Ball, and many more. Along with DJing regularly, for 7 years he also produced and held a residence at the internationally acclaimed electroswing / burlesque showcase dance party, TRAPEZE Worldwide. He performs in hybrid and one-klown band configurations, and appears regularly with SF-based indie circus Vau de Vire Society.
