“Sihl Records” is a Zurich based record store and meeting point, influenced by the movement of house & techno and located in the district 3. The shop will share music from all corners of the world. More than a record shop, Sihl Records will be a musical hub and space for musicians and artists in the city. The records store is driven by the belief that music is a powerful force in bringing people together, and that is why the  record store will be used as a starting point to educate people about different musical and cultural practices in electronic dance music. Visitors to the shop will never be treated as consumers, but will be seen as partners in Zurichs cultural sphere.


«Sihl Records» ist ein Plattenladen mit integrierter Lounge im aufstrebenden Zürcher Kreis 3, geprägt und inspiriert von der House- und Techno-Bewegung. Eine gemütliche Atmosphäre und Schallplatten aus der ganzen Welt bieten Musiker*innen, Musikliebhaber*innen und Künstler*innen einen Treff- und Austauschort. Hinter dem Konzept steht die feste Überzeugung, dass die Kraft der Musik Menschen aus den unterschiedlichsten Kulturen und Ländern zusammenbringen kann. Deshalb soll der Plattenladen auch dazu dienen, verschiedenste Richtungen und Kulturen der elektronischen Musik kennenzulernen. Besucher*innen werden nie als Konsument*innen, sondern stets als Mitwirkende in Zürichs Kulturszene gesehen.

909 represents an analog vision of electronic music. The motor of this vision was the experimentation between recording a sound and play with it. A deep sound, minimal, techno music. From this idea came 909 developed to bring new possibilities of sound. 

Amin Ravelle and Carlo Santi created 909 as a way to research new music and emerging artists. 909 is an underground platform for bringing quality music from a source of young producers, each with they unique individual sound.
