Pretty Lights is Colorado-based producer Derek Vincent Smith. Inspired by beauty in reflections, shadows, moments of enlightenment and soulful people, his latest album A Color Map of the Sun is currently being showcased with a full live band right across the US on Pretty Lights' Analogue Future 2013 Tour. More energised than most, his Slumber Session invokes action-filled dreams with dramatic scenes. "The mix focuses on down-tempo tracks from my PLM (Pretty Lights Music) record label. After all, our motto is 'keep it fresh and keep it crew', you know what I'm saying?"

Derek's top tips for Colorado include checking out the local music scene and heading out of the city and into the beautiful mountains.

i tapped into my darkest witch energy when mixing this latest full moon edition. 
this journey through melodic techno, dub tech and minimal tech was recorded live on the solstice; the coldest, darkest and shortest day of the year. The story you will hear is deeply rooted in the crux of winter yet seeks to transcend the limits of frozen time and space. 

Filled with an array of moody, spooky techno to help you root down and suss it all out, I hope these selections keep you company as you conjure and dance and contemplate.
