Many a boutique label tend to fall by the wayside after only a short stint above ground. @kolour_ltd has been around for a little over six years and was initially preceded by Kolour Recordings/Kolour Digital before label heads Mike W. and Justin McMillen decided to focus on the vinyl only imprint full-time. Priding themselves as being a family oriented label and with the amount of quality records under their belt, it’s easy to see why they are consistently able to attract a number of both veteran and newly blossoming producers to their roster.

As their biggest release to date, they are putting out a 14 track compilation called “Tale of 2 Cities” which is due to hit shelves as a 3×12 LP in September, housed in a tri-fold jacket with a poster insert included. Welcoming back family members such as Frank Booker, Ugly Drums, Eddie C, Patchworks and Franc Spangler (@jimpster), they are also increasing their list of relatives to include fresh faces such as Fouk, Admin, Sleazy McQueen & Vinyl Addicted, Inkswel and Vincenzo De Bull just to name a few.

Made with love from the family home as per usual, Christophe offers a modern take on the theme of melancholy, effortlessly switching between styles while he’s at it.

From break-laden jazz-’n-bass vibes on the title track and Flabaire’s stripped and electrified late-night interpretation of the original, to the lovely loungy trumpets and piano of ‘Midnight Madness’ and straightforward house vibes on ‘Away So Long’, this one will leave you longing.

Sound Of Vast welcome Shinichiro Yokota and The Mole as the two producers combine to reveal the second installment in the label’s 5 Year Anniversary series.

As Sound Of Vast mark their five year anniversary this year, the label will offer up five special various artist packages across 2019 limited to just 250 copies each, featuring material from the likes of Vid, Cinthie, San Proper, Akiko Kiyama, Com Sin aka Cosmin TRG, Subb-an and more across the year ahead. Up next, Tokyo’s Shinichiro Yokota and Canadian artist The Mole each offer up two solo cuts to mark the labels second release in the five-part series.

Tokyo-based Far East Recording artist Shinichiro Yokota opens the ‘5 Years Anniversary Series 02’ with ‘I Know You Like’ a harkening back to the days of soulful, musical house courtesy of jazzy synth lines, warm chords and choppy bass running alongside a swinging drum groove and vocal hooks uttering the track’s title.

Delfonic from Berlin, a busy guy that will hit you with his experienced, flawless flow and the skills of a Hip Hop veteran but an open-minded music taste including soulful grooves from new jazz vibes, underground Disco, American House, Breaks and Afro Grooves.

With a history in digging and an unquestionable love for music, Markus Lindner, a.k.a. Delfonic, is one of the most versatile and informed DJ as they come.

He used to be the key character concerning music knowledge in Berlin. After a long decade at  OYE records store he left the business to become a 100% touring DJ and also to do a series of Dance Jazz Edits (Illegal Jazz) which create a massive buzz in the new house and funky dance world (support from Gilles Peterson, Honey Djoon and many others)

Delfonic applies his broad knowledge of music styles to almost any setting, and is renowned for blending multiple genres, eras and disciplines throughout his sets. An open-minded talent, with an uncompromising approach to DJing, he employs a style schooled from an upbringing in hip-hop. Delfonic is the model DJ - he’ll warm the crowd up, get them dancing and then provide the scope and context that will keep the heads on board.
