And then there's the collaboration of Graef with Oye Records honcho Markus Lindner aka Delfonic. Also with this remix of "Delirio En Fa Menor" (off the 1976 LP "Mas Alla De Las Estrellas") you can literally feel the affinity towards what we used to call leftfield hiphop. A badass beat framework binds the ever collapsing samples of the original. It's like Graef and Delfonic hold a picture of the original tune in their hands and then tearing it in half, just to piece it back together again back-to-front. This is adulteration by permission. Or to put it in another way: This is how you get away with murder.

For their first ever double-LP outing Razor-N-Tape presents POOLS, with a sun-drenched and laid-back collection of tunes called Innertubes. POOLS, the moniker of Los Angeles duo Thee Mike B and DJ Morsecode, craft a sound that conjures up the easy going swagger and soulful grit of the left-most coast. The original versions read like an album, perfect for a lazy Sunday rooftop BBQ with beers, bros and blunts, (although no doubt some of these gems will find their way into DJs' warm-up and boom-bap sets). Starting with moody latin-jazz piano and sun-drenched live percussion played by master percussionist Giovanni Imparato, the track is driven by the classic house beat of the TR-909 - the legendary 1980's drum machine. Ronnie Scott’s resident Cuban singer Rene Alvarezdelivers the impassioned vocals, followed by the main man Claudio Passavanti’s heated Montuno piano riffs, which combine seamlessly to create a blissful, dance-floor experience. It's a perfect marriage of organic grooves, lush beats and soulful vocals, joining the dots between different generations of latin dance music.

As key members of the infamous CoOp collective, they have been flying the flag for the UK's broken beat revival, turning heads with their intensely soulful productions. Supporters include the likes of Gilles Peterson, Bradley Zero and many more.
 
'Moments In Soul' and 'Just flow' are two exuberant masterclasses in how to create a joyful edit. STheir broken beat background shines through in the meticulous drum programming, giving the performance a natural, live feel and setting it apart from others in it's class. Syncopated rhythms, celebratory chords and relentlessly energetic basslines feature throughout - creating a groove so powerful you can't help but be spirited away to the dance floor.

He used to be the key character concerning music knowledge in Berlin. After a long decade at  OYE records store he left the business to become a 100% touring DJ and also to do a series of Dance Jazz Edits (Illegal Jazz) which create a massive buzz in the new house and funky dance world (support from Gilles Peterson, Honey Djoon and many others)

Delfonic applies his broad knowledge of music styles to almost any setting, and is renowned for blending multiple genres, eras and disciplines throughout his sets. An open-minded talent, with an uncompromising approach to DJing, he employs a style schooled from an upbringing in hip-hop. Delfonic is the model DJ - he’ll warm the crowd up, get them dancing and then provide the scope and context that will keep the heads on board.
