When Max Graef and Nano Nansen played our Uncanny Valley Party last May we did a little pre-party with Max and Nano mixing it up at our beloved Fat Fenders.  We streamed live from the record store to the radio station. Also, Philipp took the opportunity to ask some questions. Four months after SHAKE 001, Mahogani's Dan Shake returns with his second edits release. The EP showcases two infectiously dance-y gems that have already received support from the likes of Daphni, Gilles Peterson and Soul Clap – an unsurprisingly warm response, given that it's Mr. Shake. To us, "Northern Merry" was the no-bainer. The synthesised organ's blues chords of the Mo-town intro plunges you straight in the deep end, with the 4x4 tempo picking straight up before you know it. Nathan evolves Rooster's sprightly electronic feel in Loop The Loop, with the inclusion of vocals adding to the record's warm-heartedness. Our choice "Never is the Change" sustains the playful, pleasantly lackadaisical feel of the entire oeuvre, with its lopsided percussion and reverb-drenched, pitch-slid guitars. Delfonic from Berlin, a busy guy that will hit you with his experienced, flawless flow and the skills of a Hip Hop veteran but an open-minded music taste including soulful grooves from new jazz vibes, underground Disco, American House, Breaks and Afro Grooves.

With a history in digging and an unquestionable love for music, Markus Lindner, a.k.a. Delfonic, is one of the most versatile and informed DJ as they come.

He used to be the key character concerning music knowledge in Berlin. After a long decade at  OYE records store he left the business to become a 100% touring DJ and also to do a series of Dance Jazz Edits (Illegal Jazz) which create a massive buzz in the new house and funky dance world (support from Gilles Peterson, Honey Djoon and many others)

Delfonic applies his broad knowledge of music styles to almost any setting, and is renowned for blending multiple genres, eras and disciplines throughout his sets. An open-minded talent, with an uncompromising approach to DJing, he employs a style schooled from an upbringing in hip-hop. Delfonic is the model DJ - he’ll warm the crowd up, get them dancing and then provide the scope and context that will keep the heads on board.
