DC Promo Tracks: Jackie Moore "Holding Back" (Moplen Remix)

Unlicensable! A playlist of tracks, that we tried to license - sometimes like this one for years already - and just cant get to the finish line. 
As we only release fully licensed tracks in our Too Slow To Disco compilation series, we sometimes just have to pass on certain magic music moments, which can be heartbreaking...! 
This amazing, smooth and funky track by Adrian Gurvitz is another golden Westcoast AOR-Disco moment. Part of his 1979 album "Vendetta" which we can highly recommend, as it has a lot of great smooth tracks and is still relatively easy/cheap to get. Originally released on Jet Records (home of E.L.O. a.o.), this has never been rereleased. A fate that a lot of Jet Record releases suffered. The company was sold too many times, contracts are gone, master tapes missing.... We found Adrian Gurvitz and talked a lot about rereleasing, but in the end he wan't impressed by our ("generous") offer for rereleasing the track nor the complete album. Well what can we do......

With a history in digging and an unquestionable love for music, Markus Lindner, a.k.a. Delfonic, is one of the most versatile and informed DJ as they come.

He used to be the key character concerning music knowledge in Berlin. After a long decade at  OYE records store he left the business to become a 100% touring DJ and also to do a series of Dance Jazz Edits (Illegal Jazz) which create a massive buzz in the new house and funky dance world (support from Gilles Peterson, Honey Djoon and many others)

Delfonic applies his broad knowledge of music styles to almost any setting, and is renowned for blending multiple genres, eras and disciplines throughout his sets. An open-minded talent, with an uncompromising approach to DJing, he employs a style schooled from an upbringing in hip-hop. Delfonic is the model DJ - he’ll warm the crowd up, get them dancing and then provide the scope and context that will keep the heads on board.
