It was really cool to incorporate my Kalmyk - Mongolian heritage into the music through the use of the morin khuur (the Mongolian fiddle) played by my long time family friend Khongr, a very talented multi instrumentalist. Also, the traditional Mongolian long song singing style was sung by Suvda, transcending us further into the worldly composition. Suvda has performed at a few of the Kalmyk Youth Coalition events in the past, playing a crucial role in preserving the Mongolian culture in our community. The fusion of the traditional elements and modern production was something that Mike @thebusinessmusic and I utilized to capture the textures and atmosphere in this composition. The song is about the massive global shift in everything that is happening right now. It is a vulnerable space for all of us and it is important to cultivate love and compassion during these chaotic times. Stay soft and strong, everyone! We got this. ❤️
