@merahabiii gears up to release a brand new four-track record, 'Relax Into Yourself', landing on April 6 via Morning Raga Records. 'Midnight To Dawn' is the second single to land ahead of the record's release featuring vocalist @maria_uzor.

"The track is about finding escapism from everyday life whilst trying to be at one with yourself," says Mera Bhai. "Musically, the verses and choruses are a metaphor for control and release, whilst Maria's lyrics narrate the dreamlike and euphoric state of release throughout."

"The message feels especially universal at this point in time with so much chaos going on in the world running alongside hyper-capitalism and crazy global politics. It feels like everyone is looking for some kind of escape."

SlothBoogie Records return for 2023 with a classy five tracker from Moonee called Primal Groove EP. The title track takes us deep into a nostalgic trip with its string swells and filtered bass. Moonee is flexing his deep house muscles on this one as snappy percussion punctuates more MPC sampling, building tension towards the reveal of the main heads down groove section… classy business from the frenchman!

Moonee - Primal Groove [SB Premiere]

After a series of successful collaborations across a variety of respected labels the Barcelona-based Italian downtempo electronica duo - PALLADIAN return with the gloriously laid back feelgood track ‘Zagara’ taken from their forthcoming debut album. 

And it’s a slice of tasteful and driving electronica that straddles a delicate lin, being both club-appropriate and lounge ready. Reminding at times of the emotive works of Bonobo, Parra For Cuva, Four tet, and Tor.

Taking it’s title from the Italian name for “orange blossom” it’s a warm, organic, and enticing track that draws the listener in.  Designed as such to imitate the flower that influenced them - overloading its pleasant citrus smell throughout the Mediterranean coast and city streets at the very beginning of the Spring season. It’s very much a fond personal memory and reminder of home infused in the minds of both producers, who’s roots, and lives very much revolve around this region. 

Furthering the recurring artistic theme of memories throughout this project the cover artwork realised by Alice Spadaro is constructed in a minimalist collage, featuring cut-outs from relevant images that are so zoomed in that they are unrecognizable, like a memory or hint of what they once were. Intangible but inherently related to something very real. 

Both fans of conceptual music and those looking for deeper listens beyond the initial pleasures, take note.

PALLADIAN have steadily garnered a reputation for creating high quality dance-oriented electronica via releases with the likes of Enhanced Music, Armada, and Future Archive. Picking up a host of editorial support from Spotify and Apple Music, significant radio play across Europe, and a ton of press support including Eton Messy, ThisSongIsSick, Chill Select and more.

The Primal Groove EP was born and it starts off with ‘Apples’, a Motor city soul drenched track with filtered bass, dusty horn samples and spaced out guitar licks. Shuffled along by MPC beats before an otherworldly vocal washes over and brings it all to a close. ‘Shishingo’ is up next with it’s clever vocal manipulation, bouncy drums, subtle organ flourishes and a skipping bassline that builds up to some good ol’ time piano workout. Completing the A side is ‘Dinner At Michelle’s’... the most disco cut of the 12”. More shuffling shakers and filtered guitar loops backed by a thumping kick and ever circling strings leading the way for a full on 4/4 workout.

Flipping over to the B sides introduces us to the title track ‘Primal Groove’ that takes us deep into a nostalgic trip with its string swells and filtered bass. Moonee is flexing his deep house muscles on this one as snappy percussion punctuates more MPC sampling, building tension towards the reveal of the main heads down groove section… classy business. Finally for dessert is ‘Boka’ a sumptuous glistening track that’s primed for beachside sunsets. Saturated with hypnotic vibes that’ll help you drift away into a calmer, more peaceful sanctuary.
