PREMIERE : Superprince - Start Again [Razor-n-Tape]

London-based producer Nebraska delivers his ‘Drill Deep’ EP with three sample based productions, including the title track that features a disco motif primed for the dancefloor.

Following releases on Rush Hour, Heist, Delusions of Grandeur and Mister Saturday Night​, Nebraska now turns his attention to the Brooklyn based imprint Razor-N-Tape’s sub-label, Razor-N-Tape Reserve. He's been known for a plethora of musical styles, but ‘Drill Deep’ showcases the more upbeat side to his musical persona while also highlighting his skill using eclectic samples.

For producing the material, Nebraska dug deep into his sample library: “Though not all made in the same period of time, these three tracks all feature drums sampled and chopped from vinyl copies of reggae records paired with samples from 70s soul productions – I prefer things to sound a little crackly and rough, that basement-y, sound system type of vibe.”

Nebraska’s ‘Drill Deep’ EP will be released March 29 on "easter yellow" 12" vinyl.

Hot Toddy makes his debut on House of Disco records and marks his first solo release in 5 years with this three tracker of originals where love is the message.

Long-serving disco-house fusionist Hot Toddy (AKA Crazy P co-founder Chris Todd) is in a loved-up mood on this rather tasty three-tracker. Surprisingly, it's his first solo single for some five years, and his first for House of Disco. It's the breezy, funk-fuelled A-side "In The Genes", in which Todd expertly fuses together elements most often found in proto-house, NYC boogie, early house and disco-funk records, that stands out, though the standard naturally remains high elsewhere. "Love Music", for example, is a wonderfully sauced-eyed stroll through dreamy deep house/disco fusion, while closer "Love Can Set You Free" sits somewhere between stripped-back disco-house, percussive boogie and Idjut Boys style dub disco.

Brasilian DJ and producer Rafael Cancian delivers a veritable United Nations of diverse international disco flavor for his first outing on Razor-N-Tape. The A side delivers cheeky horns and gyrating synths with Ç'est La Douceur, followed by a flurry of string stabs and vocal fourishes with theI Italo-tinged Fascino Di Milano. 

On the flip we get a taste of Rafa’s native Brasilian boogie with the stomping Frágil, and the EP winds down with the sensual slow groover Besos Libres. This is a 4-tracker of serious heat representing all four romance languages…perfect for romancing, and dancing!

Haunted by the ternary rhythms of the band from Mauritius, Babani Soundsystem, Kraut adds his unique electronic touch to turn this track into a dancefloor masterpiece. KR∆UT is the moniker of Amsterdam’s household name Daniel Zuur. With this alter ego he’s bound to bring his audience a flux of world music influenced electronica, different tempo’s and lots of percussion. Daniel has developed an exceptional rhythm and sound that no label will do justice. 

Babani Soundsystem defends a sound that blends Indian Ocean’s traditional rhythms and new electronic influences. The track title translated from Mauritian Creole, “Spooky stories”, evokes the island’s urban legends about night creatures in children tales. It also metaphorically describes night gatherings where spirits are awoken by the sound of traditional percussions. The latter are omnipresent, driven by a bewitching bassline and complemented by obscure synths. This pack includes remixes from Alma Negra featuring Celine Huber and Sunken Cages.
